I can't remember what my husband ordered, but I did a build your own. While it ended up being a $22 chicken sandwich, it was a beast and well worth every penny. The fries and onion rings are not included, which is a small negative, they still tasted delicious.A major negative for me was the lack of drinks they had to offer. While they had tons of alcoholic choices, they only had a limited selection of non alcoholic, so I ended up with just a water. The staff was amazing and attentive. From being seated to ordering, to getting our food and refills, and even to the end with a box and bill... It went smoothly and even though it was busy, the wait didn't feel very long.
We were completely unimpressed. Nice location. Service was pretty good. Out of chicken wings. Beer selection was poor. Chicken sandwich was un-edible rubber. They took it off the bill but it was so gross. Rest of the food was just okay. Totally forgettable.
Big dining area indoors , features outdoor dining. Friendly staff specializing in burgers and beer ?
My husband and I went here for an anniversary dinner, and it was such a nice experience! We got a seat outdoors with a BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains! It wasn't a crowded outdoor area, rather, it was a quiet and serene seat to enjoy dinner for two. We loved that other customers brought their dogs to the outdoor area, where they were allowed and welcome. The drinks were delicious and so was the food. I was easily able to swap grilled chicken on a burger instead of beef, and it was just as delicious! We shared an adult milkshake for dessert, which was also amazingly delicious. Overall, we loved the atmosphere, the staff were friendly, the food. came out timely and was delicious, and the view was amazing.
There is not one single burger in the state that BUSTS as good as this place. I’ve taken so many of my friends here and every time it’s just like when are we going to be back. The truffle fries, please don’t even get me started. ??
Sat at the outdoor side of the 2-way bar (indoor/outdoor), had some good beers and a really great burger including a fried poblano pepper on it. Truffle tots. Great place for a local-feeling experience.
Found Bootleggers through Trip Advisor on a trip through the area. We needed a dog-friendly restaurant. Go in, ask for patio seating. Once you have your table you walk through with your dog onto the patio. Their are ceiling fans and heaters for whichever you need to be comfortable. The staff were all amazing and the food was great. We enjoyed the pretzel bites appetizer, build your own burger, kids chicken tenders, French fries, onion rings and the pimento and bacon on sour dough grilled sandwich. Everything was delicious! They brought our girl a bowl of water and asked if she could have a snack (whipped cream with tiny dog cookies), which she absolutely loved. Note, there are a lot of steps to get down to the restaurant, but you can send a member of your party down to request elevator service for handicap accessible or for anyone who can’t make the steps. My husband was on crutches and about gave me a heart attack going down the steps. Will definitely go back if ever in the area.
Cool little spot. Great whiskey selection. Couple decent craft beers on tap. Got a burger and it was delicious. I even asked for it pink and got it well done and it was still good and juicy for it being cooked well done.
Just really not good. They messed up our orders which I understand As we all make mistakes. But 1 sandwich was served cold. Truffle fries were burnt. Buffalo chicken salad was mediocre at best. For the long wait to sit and even longer wait to receive such bad food…
Out on a beautiful day. Nice outside seating, with mild heater blowing to cut the light cool breeze. Nice selection of drinks. Awesome burgers - smoking gun & southern Belle. Onion rings are very good. A little pricey, burgers $13.25 with sides extra. Onion rings or fries additional $3. Nice scenery looking over the James river. Two burgers with side & two drinks $50 + tip
