Honestly one of my favorite places to visit when in town. Highly recommend, great food and atmosphere! Great choice of alcohol and very knowledgeable with what they have and recommendations on drinks! Ignore the bad reviews, the people here are amazing!

Nice atmosphere...quick and promt....very nice staff...cheeseburger and fries were awesome...huge selection of beer from your regular bud light...and many many craft and ipa brews....would highly recommended beer 88
Pretty funny you describe yourselves as unpretentious. Here's another one star review for quarter boy ? 2 years later and your rude, gross attitude toward your customer is still circulating. I just heard about it and I live like 1000 miles away. That's impressive!
A nice place to unwind, or meet friends after work. Great selection of craft beer, and the burgers are the best in town. Every one that works there is super friendly.
I have nothing bad to say. I’m not from this area, I’m here for work. When I want a good beer and good food and I don’t want a loud atmosphere to sit in, I come here. I’ve eaten 3 different meals and all of them have been good. Service is good, friendly and prompt. I really like the smaller atmosphere. Owner and server seemed to know most folks by name. Bar might seat 10, surrounding tables 20-30. Pretty intimate setting. Warm and inviting. I love it. The best thing about Lynchburg in my opinion.
Beer 88 has been a local favorite for many years. Never had any issue with service or food quality. One of the most consistent dining experiences I've had whether getting take or dining in.
Ignore the negative reviews (they were review bombed a few years back) - this place is the real deal. Burgers are awesome and they've got drink options for days.

Great food, horrible service!!. I called to place a pick up order, 3 burgers and an order of wings. I was trying to figure out how my order was $52. Little did I know, the increased their prices. That’s fine, whatever, however when you look up their menu online it still shows their burgers priced at $9.88 and their wing $6.88, but their burgers are now 11.88 and the wings are 8.88. Instead of being told this over the phone, whoever I spoke with was insanely rude to me. And when I asked how much the burgers were, I was met with a huge huff and puff and rudeness. I explained that I wasn’t aware of price increase and I was pretty much talked to like I was stupid. Needless, canceled my order and I am NEVER going back until proper customer service can be learned. I would rather go to Burger King than this place again.
