Hidden gem with some of the best wine in Virginia (Recently won three awards in state level competition). The atmosphere is rustic and quiet which makes for a very personal experience away from commotion and distraction. The wine is absolutely fantastic. Some of the most unique flavors and blends I've had. Brian, their winemaker, is very friendly and will gladly explain the science behind his wine in an easily digestible way. Expense per bottle varies, but I guarantee the quality will match the price. The staff as a whole is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It is apparent their secret to success is passion. They clearly excel in this business because they love what they do, not the money behind it.The wine, the atmosphere, and the people make for a truly unique and phenomenal experience you won't find at other vineyards.
Friendly, very personal attention. Wines are expensive! We purchased a bottle of wine after enjoying a flight, $52 for one bottle of wine!
Intimate, friendly service, great view and good local wine selection
Extremely friendly and informative winery. I definitely want to return with my husband. I did the tour with a group of friends. We were taught a tremendous amount about wine, and wine growing. The staff is incredibly friendly. This is a winery worth the trip!
Our Wine Group met at Willowcroft today for a visit and a tasting. Kim Bradish, Tasting Room Manager set up the tasting for us. Three wines (red, white, and rosé) were paired with a different goat cheese. We were very fortunate to have Brian Stromeyer, Assistant Winemaker guide us through the tastings. I understand this is not always possible. Brian was a wealth of knowledge and we also picked up a few tips. This is a smaller winery where you have a more intimate setting. Along with learning about the wine we also learned the history of the buildings. A delightful time was had by everyone as we went home with our favorite bottle of wine.
Incredible, unassuming place. Wine was incredible, and Kim was so sweet to my 18-month old who was kicked out of another winery on site. The views are incredible as well.
Odd place, beautiful setting. No real welcome, and when we asked which wine we should try the answer was “you know whatever kind of wine you like.” Then I mentioned I have a reservation, and do you have the slider pairing with wine… oh yeah we do, it was not what was pictured, instead we got a cold White Castle slider, chips and an Oreo (weird). Then never once mentioned what kind of wine we were drinking (just poured and walked away), not the history of the place, or hey let me show you where you can sit. It wasn’t busy, it was us and one other small group already taken care of. Could use a ton more customer interaction, even just come over to check on us after the food debacle (which we handed back to them). The wine was okay, not wine aficionado, but definitely not their best or the best. Again beautiful area, but will probably not be back.
ALL THE YES. A client recommended we check out Willowcroft and we made a point to check it out. Lovely views and tasty wine yes please.
Charming, rustic, 40 year old winery in Loudoun County, not far from civilization but at the end of a mountain road. Great view from outdoor tables, cozy club room upstairs. Friendly staff and great wine!
Stellar experience! Wine to suit my friend's preferences for dry white, and mine for juicebox sweet. And the truffles--yum! The view, as others have noted, is spectacular. We were greeted by the staff as if we were long-lost friends. Brian moved chairs to ensure my friend and I had the best possible vantage point of the mountain vista. He even cleaned the chairs! Connie delivered our rounds chairside so we did not have to give up a single moment of scenery viewing. Kim circulated through, checking on teach parties' comfort level and enjoyment quotient. Lew recounted the history of the winery with pride. Can't say enough good things about Willowcroft!
