Sea bass was overcooked and desserts were not exciting. The steaks and sides were amazing. Good value on wines. Great ambiance with open space inside and outside.
Friends birthday service was very slow and inadequate to accommodate 5 at lunch on a Wednesday
I brought my best friend to the resort for a spa day and had an early lunch at Piedmont. I’m really glad that lunch was no indicator or the spa experience. Our service was nice, but very scattered yet we were the only table for quite some time. Perhaps he was new, although he was knowledgeable. Thankfully his service was the only thing good enough that the experience wasn’t entirely ruined because our food was really terrible. The wine chiller was broken so our bottle of sparkling Rose was nearly room temperature. We had the hummus for a starter which came with quite a bit of naan bread which was good but only 3 small pieces of carrots and celery. The salad I ordered was a complete waste of money. The lettuce used was made of all the pieces you would normally get rid of, big chunks that were nearly white, nothing leafy or green whatsoever. The chicken that I added tasted like it was cooked a week ago and slightly re-warmed in a microwave. Rubbery, dry, nasty. My friends salad was okay-ish, also it looked like a child made the salad…including a spring mix that probably should have been in the trash because it was limp, with moist brown areas, and really not something you would expect for a $25 salad; nor was mine. We won’t bother ever going back because it was a huge let-down. I would be pressed to recommend even if you’re absolutely starving and there are no other options.
There is a bar side and the private dining side. We sat on the private dining side and it was a very basic decorated dining area. The food tasted and was presented like what you would get at a wedding (not in a good way). For the price and it being a fine dining location we just expected better.
My husband and I booked a reservation for Easter Sunday Brunch through Open Table. When we arrived, the host said we weren’t on the reservation list. My husband showed him the Open Table reservation confirmation. He made a call to someone, then disappeared for several minutes. When he reappeared, he asked if we were members, we told him no. He said the brunch was exclusively for members. We told him that was ridiculous since we had confirmation for our reservation. Once again he disappeared for this time approximately 10 minutes and when he returned, he told us a table was being prepared for us. We were thinking the room must be packed. We were taken to our table, and along the way there were COUNTLESS empty & dirty tables; in fact, there were only about 4 tables occupied. We sat down & a waiter asked us if we wanted a drink & told us to go get our own food at the buffet. WE WERE COMPLETELY DISGUSTED & DISAPPOINTED!!! The menu made it seem that it was an upscale buffet including shrimp, oysters, and think mussels & or clams, carving station for prime rib, salads, vegetables, omelette station, desserts, etc. With the price of $85 per person, we could only assume everything would be top notch. To our surprise, the shrimp was waterlogged (appeared to be frozen/thawed out), chewy/brownish colored oysters, mussels that weren’t open (when they don’t open, they aren’t safe to eat), the the prime rib was dry & not tender (like a quality prime rib would be), the vegetables were obscure options…extremely disgusting seasonings, no regular garden or Cesar salad available, and when we had to resort to an omelette (you’d think this couldn’t go wrong), the person making the omelette was asked to include spinach, tomatoes, onions and cheddar cheese. He started each selection with about 1/2 of a teaspoon of each ingredient, when asked to increase the amount, he added a tiny bit more. Turns out he made them with what seemed like mozzarella cheese. We literally placed each plate we attempted to eat off to the side of our table…COMPLETELY DISGUSTING!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO LANSDOWNE - the entire experience was unbelievable and a total waste of money.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch AND dinner at Piedmont. The whole experience exceeded our expectations, leaving us feeling full, satisfied, and happy we didn't break the bank by going to DC Prime Steak or Eddie Merlot's.We had lunch at Piedmont after our spa treatment. Cesar took good care of us. One of the dishes we ordered had ingredients that were not in season. Chef Vi came to our table and let us know. Instead, he hooked us up with a different dish that we loved! He then invited us to dinner as his special guests.Dinner is when the Piedmont team really shined. Chef Vi and Antwon were super personable and happy to chat - despite the Saturday dinner rush and the multiple birthday celebrations that were going on. We had 2 appetizers (charcuterie board + brie and artichoke dip), 2 entrees (PERFECTLY cooked medium-rare ribeye and miso-marinated seabass), and 2 desserts (they were both good but the chocolate sin cake was worth every calorie!!).We were so happy with our service, that we'll be coming back here for every special event moving forward. Thanks again to the whole entire team for making our anniversary so special. We can't wait to return! Especially for that ribeye.
The seared sea bass was delicious ! As was the pomegranate mimosa. Beautiful views and lovely food
Nicely maintained and very clean
Don't recommend it
Took a table outside because of the loud drinking golfer's inside. Unfortunately, loud drinking and cigar smoking golfers showed up in the outdoor dining area of what is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. The service was OK but can't say the same for the food. Ordered the steak (medium rare) and fries. The steak arrived well done. There was no red to be found inside the steak. When I brought it to the attention of the server, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I'm sorry" then walked off. The over cooked steak wasn't very good so there was quite a bit left on the plate. The server asked if I needed a box. I again brought to his attention the fact that the steak was way over cooked and that I would not be needing a box. I suggested that he should discuss the situation with his manager. The Manger did come over to the table to discuss the situation. He asked me how I had ordered my steak. I told him medium rare; although, I'm not sure why he didn't get that information from the server. The manager agreed the steak was not medium rare calling it medium well; although the steak was clearly cooked well done and did not appear very appetizing. The manager said he would remove the charge for the steak but never apologized for the kitchen serving an over cooked steak. The Manager seemed hurried and more concerned with other duties then properly handling customer service. Although the prices are reflective of a fine dining restaurant, the food, service, and ambiance, clearly are not. The dining options are limited at the resort and I tried all of them during my stay at the resort. None of the options are very good and are only a convenience if staying at the resort. The best option for dining would be to visit one of the many restaurants in the area.
