I’m a native New Yorker who grew up in Brooklyn with plenty of Italian and Jewish delis, I love a good sandwich. Today I was craving a Pastrami sandwich but my favorite sandwich place in Leesburg “The Deli” is currently closed. My friend recommended me Deli South is just as good or better. Well today I will put it to the test.I had to use the the Door Dash service today cause I am currently working, checking out the menu hoping to see a hot pastrami sandwich but no. The closest option was a Rueben I should have I have gotten that and changed it up but that’s all in hindsight now. They did have make your own Cold sub option. I went with that, Pastrami, provolone with lettuce and tomatoes oil and vinegar, deli mustard on a mini baguette. On the special instructions I noted light oil and vinegar please. I also ordered bad of sour cream and chive Rt 11 chips. I had to put that in the special instructions, there was no option to choose flavor. There was no drink option nor a option for a dill pickle. My order was tad bit late, No biggie. Finally my order arrived I immediately noticed they forgot the chips. Bummer. On to the sandwich…. No dill pickle spear, Double Bummer. Okay the sandwich is definitely what I ordered but they didn’t follow the special instructions… the bread was soaked with oil and vinegar, plus the mustard the bread is just a mushy mess. I wish the baguette was toasted or something. The Pastrami on is own is pretty good, It’s definitely Boar’s Head. Cheese is good, nice sharp provolone bite. If I had the bag of chips I could have salvaged the sandwich with some crunch.Sadly I was overall disappointed and still hungry. I ordered a cheeseburger from “Melt”I would give South Deli another go, this time I should go there in person. You know first impressions are everything. I am still hopeful.
Never been here before so I thought I'd stop in and have some breakfast had their corned beef hash scrambled eggs with cheese toast and fresh-squeezed orange juice the orange juice was very good but the corned beef hash had no flavor and I asked for my scrambled eggs to be soft with cheese that they were not I went back and told the manager he was very apologetic and refunded my money and he said he hoped he would see me again
I've eaten at deli South for, well for as long as they've been open. I lived in Leesburg for 23 years so when I lived there I ate more often, but now that I live an hour away whenever I am in Leesburg for business or driving through going home, sometimes I'll stop if it's lunch time and have one of their many wonderful deli creations. They are outstanding quality and a lot of bang for your buck for sure. If you're in Leesburg and you're looking for a good deli sandwich or a salad or anything along those lines do yourself a favor and stop in deli South.
I had the steak and cheese here. Ill tell you its the best steak and cheese ive ever had!! ??
My late sister used to go there to eat. But the chocolate milk I got for my kid was expired, they gave me the Hershey milk free. Breakfast sandwich was great.
Always reliable but squash soup was not flavorful...chili was awesome though!
Deli South is a tried and true favorite for those in the mood for mouthwatering sandwiches.
This place here a a quaint spot with good, homemade food.Their soup was supper good!! It was my favorite part if the meal!!Service with a smile is ALWAYS a good thing! You can either take out or dine in.
Quick service, breakfast food was done quite well. The breakfast potatoes had onion and bell pepper in them and it was delicious
Ordered online for a smoked salmon bagel w/ cream cheese and capers, turkey club, potatoes, and a fruit cup. The bagel arrived without the smoked salmon, the turkey club was toasted to a brick, the potatoes were soggy and the fruit cup never was put in the bag. Cannot recommend going here.
