This is hands down the best sushi I've ever had.I had the Fatty Tuna (Toro) nigiri, Egg Omelet (Tamago) nigiri, and a Kami Kaze Roll. The Toro and Tamago were just... so so so good - salty (in a good way), savory, just perfect. And the Kami Kaze was spicy and amazing too.This should be your go-to place for Sushi, no question.
Great sushi— would give more than 5 stars if I could. The server was sooo friendly, and I loved how she knew exactly what to suggest after hearing my faves. I also thought the price was very reasonable for all these amazing food we received!P.s. anyone seeing this should try the cheesecake tempura. It’s heavenly. ??
2nd visit with disappointment.I visited here about a month ago and had an amazing experience with a great quality sushi.Well.. I ordered Taste of umi box and other food last time and every single sushi was amazing and super fresh. I even liked the sea urchin dish. Sea urchin is not my thing but their dish was amazing. I was dying to visit sushi Umi again .So this is my 2nd visit here.I brought my kids with me this time.We ordered Chirashi, Taste of Umi, kids meal- chicken teriyaki, and shrimp yakisoba.Well...I was so disappointed with the quality of sushi. Kids meal and shrimp yakisoba portion was good but it was way too salty.For sushi...Well.. I don't know..But it wasn't the same quality sushi as my first visit.I had to spit it out the urchin dish.. it tasted kinda funky..I can't tell which ingredient wasn't fresh but it definitely tasted not right.Disappointed.-------Amazing food! I am very picky about sushi. Everything was so fresh ! Amazing presentation too!! I am sure I will come back with friends and family!
Their service is really good, this is real authentic Japanese ?? spot, not one of those fake fake pretending like one. They have really nice Japanese beer. If you the type of "sushi lover" that cant eat raw fish, like chipotle sauce on rice rolls, like sushis with cheese, California roll or think plate size is too small.... this is not a spot for you, this is for real sushi lovers.
Chicken teriyaki was very dry and rice was pretty awful as well. Sushi was above average, but not great. Pretty overpriced also compared to other sushi restaurants in the area.
Excellent service, the server anticipated what we wanted next and was promptly there. The bento box was very fresh and ornately laid out with care. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are local or just passing through.Bravo to the owners of Sushi Umi, keep it up and don't change anything.
Came for lunch and got their taste of umi lunch edition. came with soup and salad. the whole thing was very filling and a delicious variety of food, both raw and cooked. staff was very nice and very helpful with our questions.
Food was overall great yet the shrimp tempura appetizer was mainly veggies and 2 shrimps. Literally charged almost $12 for 2 shrimps. My biggest thing was that they tax almost 10% for food.Service was quick and food was good quality.
The food was tasty. The reason for not giving 4 stars was for slow service and quantity of food for price. The ambiance was nice. The presentation was good. The friendliness of the staff was good. But to be there for 2 hours and leave hungry was a bit odd.
Absolutely amazing! The dynamite roll has very fresh with crispy jalapeno on top. Not spicy, just enough to add a kick. The Umi Roll was beautiful and delicious! Will definitely return.
