Ignorance is bliss. This was my favorite place. One of my favorite appetizers is the Potato Shrimp. Recently when I tried to order it, I was informed the supplier is out of stock. It is a sad day when it is too hard to peel a potato into the shoe string and then wrap it around a shrimp and fry it. I wish that this was my only issue. My second favorite appetizer is the Tuna Stack. Who doesn’t love Tuna. Well when I ordered it, it was much different than the previous times I had had it, and it did not have cucumbers like the menu stated. I looked through other photos posted, and the Tuna Stack has gone through many iterations, but I don’t think the menu has ever been updated to reflect the changes nor variations. This a BIG deal consider allergies. You can’t advertise one thing but present another. People can get sick or worse. Tuna stack this was not. There was more filler than fish. From what I could make out, tasted more like radish variant than pear.I ordered the Super Rainbow Roll because it had double the fish. As you can see in the picture it just looks like a regular rainbow roll. Consistency and quality is lacking.Lastly, when I arrived I was told I had to wait which is totally understandable. While waiting a group of four arrived and said they had a reservation. The lady at the front scoffed with a sound in response and then walked away. The group was eventually seated. When it came time for me to be seated, I looked around there were 6 seats at the sushi bar, 4 tables, 1 large table, and 2 booths open. In the time that I had been waiting, only 4 people had left.

It's really good sushi, it's also pretty expensive, but really good. I've only given four stars (really 3.5 if 8 could) because every time I've been here there have been communication issues.. for example, one time I ordered take away but they didn't pass that on to the kitchen, everyone was pretty upset about having to move everything into boxes.. other time we ordered via the paper menu, and the waiter took it and ran our order (didn't verify it) and we got $20 more than what we put on the paper.. when i asked why they brought back the paper showing us it was circled but we didn't circle it..

This restaurant has the best chef and the best sushi bar I’ve ever been. If you are looking for real traditional Japanese cuisine, Chef Yong brings you all the best flavors Japan can offer, including hospitality and respect.Sit at the bar and eat his Omakasé, you will not regret. His humor is very peculiar and it is a delightful experience. Come to this place if you want to have fun and also want to have a great meal. ?

We adore Hama Sushi! We have been coming here for over 20 years (as far back as we can remember and we came to NOVA in 1999)! Yung (sp?) is awesome! The sushi is delicious and high quality. It's some of the best sushi we've had and we've eaten in countless places in the US and even abroad. Highly recommend!!

Their sushi and appetizers are to die for. And the servers are super friendly.

I placed two sushi orders and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the prep and quality of the salmon. I ordered a Spicy salmon and a phili roll. The Phili roll was descent, but the rice seemed to not hold together and the roll kept falling apart. The spicy salmon was spoiled or rotten salmon. I have had and made many versions of spicy salmon, but this was terrible. To make it even worse, when I initially told the waitress she said rest assured the salmon is fresh. It wasn’t. It had a pungent smell. Def disappointed with food.

So far so good. Sushi spot, we had a great experience here he waiters were extremely nice, attentive and friendly. Nice spot. Clean and we will return. Sushi was amazing as well.

Overall, the quality of sushi here is excellent. My only wish is that they would fully clean and de-vein the shrimp, especiallywith the shrimp tempura. Sometimes it was a little neglected.

Don't waster your hard earn money here. I ordered vegetable tempura and curry with chiken tonkatsu. The tempura tasted "heavy" suggesting the oil the tempura was cooked in was old. The tonkatsu was horrible. I could not bite into the chicken because it had the texture of rubber. I was concerned about health safety of eating the chicken. It was not really a tonkatsu either because the breading was falling off and the portion was very small. Not crunchy at all. The size of the order was super small. It wasn't a full breast, but three small pieces, each the size of a child's little finger. Quite disgusting. The dinner came with miso soup which tasted a slight bit salty for my taste. No traditional Japanese salad. Instead of complaining, I just left after I paid. I will never go to that place again. BTW, I was raised in Kyushu, Japan, so this was, in my opinion, not an authentic Japanese experience. Service was okay, but the worst part is the waitress who took my order overcharged me for a vegetable tempura. I asked if I could have a side order. They did not have it (imagine that). I asked if I could replace the shrimp tempura with vegetable? She said, yes; but I was charged $13.87 for five pieces of vegetable. I felt cheated, and I believe the waitress was either too lazy to tell me I was going to be charged premium, or she was just downright working for the Yakuza. Oh...there were like all kinds of empty tables, but she was stacking all of us close together like sardines despite pandemic suggestions...lazy.

I've been going here since I was a small child, and can day that this is the best sushi I have ever had; the staff is absolutely amazing, they're very nice. The sushi is always great quality but if you don't like fish then there is udon, ramen, and many other quality options on the menu.
