I discovered this place via Google, the food was tasty but my core complaint is due to their cleanliness as a business. The place does not look clean, the people behind the counter do not wear head coverings around the food and they were coughing continuously with no masks on. Listen, I get it masks are not required but out of courtesy for patrons and it seems like they were sick. I would not return.

The food was great and tasty, great customer service, first i visit here like two days before but seeing the pictures of some Afghanistan cruel kings hurt me, Specially Shah Shuja and Abdul Rahman Khan

The place is one of the oldest Afghani and Persian serving restaurants in Herndon. They have combination platters of bread, rice and kabobs of chicken, lamb and beef and choice of sides. Their tandoor chicken platter is one of the best we have tasted , the pieces of chicken being juicy and succulent. Price wise portions are good.

Great Afghani food. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. Some of the best hummus I’ve had.

Growing up I used to come here with my family and we loved it. Last night was absolutely not that. You are paying $15+ for chicken or lamb I'd expect bigger chunks of meat. This is not what it used to be. The kabob was practically bite size. We mostly ate the bread because they brought their portion sizes down. The sides were smaller as well. I love the chick peas compared to other Afghan restaurants but wth was that portion. I remember the day when the sizes were nice and full in the containers as well. If I am going to pay more, I'd expect at least an amount that's filling.

This is the place to eat correct Afghanis , Persians food . Very Very inviting place , super clean and the food is one of the best . I believe the owner is there as well and he is absolutely friendly and nice . I will try this place again and again for sure

I’ve been going here for about 23 years with my family. We’ve kept going here for so long not because of the food, but to support the founding brothers. They’ve made everyone feel like family and have been providing excellent customer service. But the customer service and the over all experience is not the same with the young kids upfront. Only 1 of the kids has the potential to provide the same caring service their elders have been providing for over 2 decades. The remaining kids definitely need to learn the standards their elders have set, otherwise they will lose customers. Especially with so many other kabob options nowadays.

Ordered kabobs from this place over the years... really cooked well and the flavors are amazing. Good portion size and very nice combo selections. Always packed as well. Kudos to the good work!

Kabob places are all over Northern VA. But, this one is the best. Charcoal kabob has been making true Afghan kababs for over 25 years. I have eaten here since I was a kid.The bread is incredible, tastes like something straight off the streets of Kabul. Meat is tender, flavorful, and spiced beautifully. Sides are fantastic. Family is as friendly as can be, and are always delighted to see me when I arrive. For Kababs, this is where you come.

Excellent place for some kabobs, samosas and more. The taste is good and the spice level is perfect. The white sauce along with the green spicy sauce blends well with the kabob and the rice platter. The only complaint is the limited quantity on the white/green sauces.
