Our family eat at Rico off Nuckols road regularly. This is our first time visiting this location. Same great food. My husband is on low carb diet, they sautéed the Carnitas with onion and pepper. My husband thinks Rico’s has the best Carnitas. Our waiter worked very hard by himself. He didn’t talk much but he frequently checked on us.If you are in the mood for Mexican food, Rico’s is a great kids friendly restaurant with delicious food.
Of all the local Mexican restaurants, Rico's is my favorite, hands down. Food and prices are great - they could definitely charge more given how large the portions are. Servers are always extremely friendly. I don't know about the other locations, but at the John Rolfe location, you really feel welcomed and like the Rico's team is genuinely happy to have you. And, of course, margaritas go to - I sure hope the state doesn't take that away when the COVID executive orders expire. Highly recommend!
Salt. Neither of us could eat our entrees. I had a Fajitas Combo (beef and chicken) and my wife a Pollo Loco of 2 grilled chicken breasts which is really one breast sliced several times. We got a box to go, went home and salvaged the meal by rinsing the entrees, reheating them and then ate them. The Spanish rice was too salty, but we did not try to salvage that. Didn't try the fried beans. They do offer corn tortillas and the prices are standard for RVA.
This is the place to go for quick Mexican food. Nothing fancy. But good enough to go back again. Prices are very reasonable.
Good food, great service at a family owned business. They have my all time favorite style of mole, the one made with Mexican chocolate! Tucked away in a strip mall, it's a gem of a find. Check them out.
The carnitas street tacos here are truly something else. Definitely a standout. Highly recommend!!

The food and inside server was great! We sat on the patio and the waiter was a older gentleman who we could tell either didn’t want to wait on us or was ready to go home. He was really grrrr lol. Anywho the woman who kept checking on us a a complete delight. Our meal was amazing and the price ??
