K’Raja used to be one of my favorite spots for an Indian buffet. Visited for the first time in a long time yesterday and found out they stopped doing the buffet in 2020 due to Covid. I was disappointed but selected the butter chicken from the lunch specials. It came out and didn’t even look like an Indian dish. The rice was bright yellow and not basmati and the butter chicken sauce was a bright pink color. I tried it and it definitely did not taste like Indian either. I didnt eat any of my meal and the waitress never even asked if anything was wrong with it. I never write reviews but this experience was so bad I felt like I owed it to others to share!

Raw chicken. The taste was good, I ordered chicken korma and as i was eating it everything was fine but i cut open a couple pieces of chicken and they were completely pink. No one wants medium rare chicken…won’t be buying again

It was as bad as I never had this kind of biriyani ever! I ordered a chicken biryani and a plate of chicken pakora. They charged 4.99 for 5 pieces of pakora which was finished with a bite! The chicken biriyani was khichdi for us without spices. I should have taken pictures but I forgot! The amount of chicken was really minimum in the biriyani. Just because we were hungry we finished that food. Biriyani is a signature food item of India. It should be more palatable! I should mentions the lady was serving food was really nice.

I have lived in the Richmond area for 10 years now and, as an Indian food fanatic, I’ve gotta say that K’Raja is the best. I’ve dined in and taken out dozens of times. Everything is excellent. The “sweet” naans are first-class, along with the mint kabobs. Whenever I go to another Indian restaurant in RVA, I go with an open mind, but it never comes close to K’Raja.

Took my daughter to try Indian food for the 1st time, they used to have a buffet here, which I thought would be a good way to introduce her, but unfortunately they no longer offer the buffet. It was about 1230 on a Sunday and we were the only people inside, we were greeted by a very jovial Indian man who warmly sat us at our table. A few minutes later our server and brought us some menus and asked us for our drinks. After going over the menu with my daughter we ordered a vegetarian sampler, a mild Lamb Vindaloo for my daughter and a medium Goat Curry for myself. When the food first came you wouldn't have known we actually ordered two different dishes because they look exactly the same but you definitely could taste the difference in the medians. The serving size is a little deceiving because the bowl was actually fairly deep so you got a lot more then what you thought. As with Indian food it was very flavorful, both the lamb and goat were very tender and serve two different ways cut what are some pieces still having bone. We both enjoyed the sampler as well the only thing we didn't think it had really any taste to was the fried cheese. The Naan was fantastic! The place was very clean and tidy, there was a small bar and my daughter was very excited they had a disco ball. Service was fairly fast and the food didn't take very long either. It was nice, hot and fresh. Everything tasted really good. I definitely would come back and try something else.

Stopped by for a weekday lunch and were happy to see lunch specials. The staff was so warm and welcoming. I appreciated the offer to explain any entree. We had the palak paneer and the kofta curry. Spice levels were just right. Also tried the samosas, popad, and naan. All were yummy!

Enjoyed India K' Raja for an early dinner! Quick and efficient service with fun party vibes. The value is great for the price. Got a vegetarian platter and a Mattar Paneer. Would come again!

Food was delicious and perfectly prepared. My husband likes more spice than I do and they prepared each of our dishes exactly as we asked. This is our go to restaurant for Indian food. Highly recommend!

There is NO way this place has this many 4 & 5 star ratings. These ratings are fraudulent & as fake as this Indian restaurant. Food tastes HORRIFIC. I should've known when we walked in it was completely empty, not 1 native in site & even the drink was flavorless...should've left after the 1st sip. To the owner or who ever is replying, your responses to the Real Truthful ratings are as nasty as the food you serve. Don't try that with me because I will come back here to share the rest of the unpleasant details from our visit. Every low rating comment regarding the food is Exactly what our experience was. It's beyond someone's personal preference, this is just not authentic food & you know it. Stop scamming people.Response to owner: Just as I expected, another disgusting response to an unsatisfied customer who still PAID the tab. You're welcome for my feedback of your inauthentic Indian cuisine. You obviously don't value feedback from your guests, especially when it's HONEST because every honest review you reply with an unprofessional response. My rating is not vindictive, it's just matching the energy I've observed you give to the honest customer reviews in your responses to them & you weren't expecting a review the hard truth. Your supposedly raving fans nor you have no idea what authentic Indian food is supposed to be. That restaurant may have been there since 1995, but I'm sure the past owners did much better. In 1995 they probably weren't scamming customers, but in 2022 you are. There are no allegations, we have real life experience & if you don't like harsh Truth then do better. Obviously, you have tons of other customers who had the same bad experience we had which is why your responses are so defensive. Vedetta?? Lol please! There are way better things in life to do...we would never step foot back in that place. Only someone with a guilty conscience would feel threatened by an honest Google review. Use the funds I paid you & take a cooking class. Have a great life.

First time trying indian food and I wasn't disappointed. I thought the vegetable korma was well spiced and flavorful, and the garlic Naan bread was great on it's own or dipped with the korma. Not to mention, the staff were very friendly.
