Definitely a 5 star experience. Great food, fresh and comes out hot! Never very crowed. The wait staff is very professional and takes adjustments kindly. Just an overall great environment and smells great when you walk in. The shrimp a grits bowl was delicious. Try it :)

**Update**: After I was left a kind note asking to return, I decided to come back and try again. I ordered the same thing...I added a biscuit this time of course. Everything was great! The additional star was earned.**Previous Review**I went to Eggs Up on an early Friday morning. The atmosphere was nice and I was seated immediately. I got the Cinnamon Caramel Smile and the Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer. Both were very good! Also the food came out pretty fast. The reason for the three stars is that my main dish, loaded hasbrowns with sausage, came out lukewarm. Now, this had me confused because I could see steam rising from the bowl. Yall my eggs were hot but not the rest of the bowl. What makes it even crazier is that the seasonings were right! It would have been a perfect meal if my food had come out hot.And what makes it even stranger is that this wasn't during a rush hour time. There was plenty of staff. Plenty of wait service. So..I don't know.Maybe it will be better next time.

My wife and I had been to Eggs Up Grill on John Rolfe Pkwy twice before and had terrific experiences which makes our visit today that much more disappointing. We were seated within 2 minutes and it took about 10 minutes for our server to stop by the table to take our drink order. By then we had decided what we wanted for our meal so we gave her the whole order then. An hour later (no flipping kidding!) we got our food. Other patrons were having the same wait. We tired of waiting and were going to pay for our drinks and go elsewhere but were assured our meal was coming 'next'. Our server apologized for the lengthy delay and claimed that it was taking so long because two cooks were off today. I noted there were 4 cooks working the line and 3 servers. When our food finally arrived it was nowhere near the quality we have experienced in the past. It had no visual appeal and the taste was marginally acceptable. Our adult son, who was visiting and eating there for the first time did not eat half of his order it was so poorly done. Until now were were excited to have a breakfast place close to our neighborhood but after today we won't be going back. What started a few months ago as a good place seems to have faltered pretty quickly. Giving them 1 star today is being way too generous.

This was my first time eating at this establishment. I had it delivered with UberEats. First and foremost, packaging and meal size was great. Most importantly, however, the food blew me away. I ordered the breakfast bowl and a side of grits, to which they were both gluten free! It was cooked perfect, eggs cooked medium were actually over medium. Thank you for being such a great establishment, next on the list is to dine in for the full experience. I will 1000% be recommending others to have the same great experience as I did!!! Great job you all, keep it up!

Update (5/16/22): I reached out to the owner 12+ hours after posting the below review. He openly acknowledged the restaurant had issues yesterday (the day of my visit), and said he would work with the staff to ensure a good dining experience.Original (5/15/22): Ended up leaving after we had already been at our table for an HOUR with no food. At 1 point during our hour-long wait I noticed that only 1 table of customers had actually been served their food— the other 24 tables of customers were WAITING for their food. When I asked the manager what was going on, she said they had a lot of to-go orders to fill—- that was why only 1 table in the entire restaurant had actually been served their food. She said our food would be out soon. Still had not received our food 30 minutes later, so we left.At no point during this entire hour-long wait in which my table and the other 24 tables had ZERO food did the manager walk around and offer crackers, muffins, a piece of bread to ANYONE. (My specific party was myself and my 2 elementary-aged sons.)A table of 4 customers who arrived at the restaurant and was seated at the restaurant BEFORE my party of 3 even arrived to the restaurant STILL had not gotten their food (or a cracker, toast, muffin, etc.) when we finally left. And we were not the 1st customers to leave. A couple at their own food-less table got up and left 25 minutes prior to my party of 3 leaving. They had also already been seated prior to my party even arriving at the restaurant.(We got there at 9:30am. We were seated at 9:45am. Ordered at 9:55am. And we ended up leaving at 10:45 am. No food. Zero. Nothing.)The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is I have eaten breakfast at this specific location on 3 other occasions and while the service these 3 other times was slightly slower than expected, it wasn’t nearly as long as this most recent time. Also the servers are usually friendly and the food is usually pretty good. As well, 12 hours after I originally posted this review, the owner acknowledged they had issues yesterday (the day of my visit) and would work with staff to fix them. I truly hope the owner, manager and staff all learn from this really bad experience they provided to me and my 2 kids, plus all of the other customers who chose to dine at their restaurant in-person yesterday mid-morning.

So glad we found this place. Their biscuits are amazing and their coffee even smiled at me. Very friendly and efficient staff. They really do make you feel like family.

It is wonderful to have a great breakfast/lunch place in our neighborhood. Food is great, waitstaff is friendly and helpful. Lots of variety on the menu. Highly recommend!

Came here with a buddy of mine who said it is a fantastic place and he was right! Staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was great. I had the Cheese Steak Omelette and my friend had the chocolate chip pancakes. Definitely will be back soon!

If you don't like eggs or breakfast this review is for you. Everyone else can rave about those items. My wife thought the Eggs Benedict were excellent, but pointed out that they tasted much better than they looked. Very pleasant, but noisy, atmosphere offering all types of seating located in former Rodino's space next to John Rolfe Parkway. Staff is absolutely terrific and happy to serve. Try the BBQ pork, burger, BLT, or salads. If they ask you about peppers or onions in your hash browns be prepared to pay 65 cents for each one. A less yuppy, less expensive, alternative to First Watch.

This past Saturday morning, I went there with 2 of my brothers. My brother Ray, who happens to be black stood there for 10 minutes with no greeting from a hostess, or even a waitress saying “sit anywhere.” Nothing, until about 3 minutes after I walked in, then the waitress yelled out “just sit anywhere, guys!”Not a great start to our first visit to a restaurant. It’s easy to project intent on people, and it’s not fair. So, I will not say that was racially motivated, but as the only person of color in the restaurant, it can make you feel that way. And it does tend to look that way. Not a good look. This was strike 1!Anyway, the place was very clean and the waitstaff were very nice.I ordered eggs, bacon, a waffle, and some cheese grits.First the eggs: The “meal” came with 2 eggs, and I asked for a third. I asked for them scrambled with cheddar. They came out rather dry, lukewarm, without cheese, and my extra egg was on a separate plate. Ugh… Strike 2!The bacon was crispy, the way that I requested that they be! Great job! It would’ve been hard to come back from messed up bacon! The waffle was also rather dry, and didn’t have butter on it. At least I could rehydrate this a bit with the syrup! Then the grits… The grits were a bit soupy, and there was very little cheese in them. This was strike 3 for me!Then I was charged extra for the cheese I did not get in my eggs. I won’t be returning, which is a shame because it’s so close to my house!
