Not saying anything about the food but apparently they have a walkout fee (which I understand if people walk out but I did not) I got charged $40 for a drink and fries I should have paid $9 for. I called and apparently it should be “credited to my account” and I should “talk to my bank.” If you are going to charge me $40 for a $9 meal you need to tell me before that happens. Absolutely ridiculous, ESPECIALLY since I wasn’t a walk out. Maybe just charge the people actually trying to scam you instead of a local trying to get some good food.
Coming from the Philadelphia area, Urgies brings a taste of "home" to Harrisonburg. Their cheesesteaks are awesome. You definitely want cheese wiz... and more cheese wiz. The bar scene is super cool and is a great place to come to for a few bucks off of drinks during the week. A regular lunch recommendation for us!
I love this place! Atmosphere is fun and staff is so friendly! The cheesesteaks are authentic Philly steaks!! It's super cozy with only a few tables inside but outdoor seating is available too.
Just stumbled on this place last weekend. The place is small but they are adding on right now so they will soon have outdoor seating available again. The atmosphere is really cool inside. Cool tunes, metal wall signs all over the place and just a great vibe. I was not expecting much as my wife has celiac and I have a gluten allergy but I we were able to order a gluten free wrap and the food came out hot and very tasty! I was really impressed with the entire experience! I am absolutely going back and I would recommend to anyone.
Tony and I went to get a "Great Cheese steak" and the food was Great. I was a little surprised that there was NO designated parking for the restaurant. Finding on street parking was a challenge since we were not from the area. But a little walk doesn't kill you and definitely needed it after we ate.We went in and opted to eat inside the restaurant instead of the outside dining area. The outside dining was nice with tables and overhead roof. Inside was nicely air conditioned. There was about 4 tables with bar stool seating. Full bar and Tony's favorite PBR on tapWe ordered the Urgie's Special 12" Cheese Steak Hoagie with Route 11 Chips and we ordered Peorgies with fried onions and sour cream. The food was very good. We shared everything. I asked for BBQ sauce for my sandwich but didn't need it. The sandwich was very spicy. First time with Pepperoni on cheese steak but it was goodWe would definitely eat here again and recommend to others! Great atmosphere Great friendly staff and great food! Gender neutral bathrooms and no parking were negatives. I just didn't like the dirty urinal in the bathroom.
This little gem was tucked away and we happened upon this place by accident and I am so glad we did. The cheesesteak was huge! It was so flavorful, hot and fresh. The cheesesticks were also good. I love the decor in the place and it was nice and clean inside and out. The server/bartender was very friendly and helpful when we asked for suggestions on what was good on the menu. When I am in Harrisonburg, Virginia again, I will definitely visit this place again. The pics don’t do the sandwich enough Justice. This is probably the best cheesesteak that I have ever had!
Honestly, not a great Cheese steak. The meat was alright, nothing special, and there was hardly any whizz on our cheese steaks. The fries were pretty simple too.Final note, the supervisor was pretty rude to us and I saw him be rude to an employee as well. Probably won't go back there again.
Fantastic cheese steaks, pub food, cheap drinks, good craft beer draft and small package selection, and friendly, attentive, and personable staff.Regulars' banter provides for good entertainment. Although a Philly sports bar, no one will hate on you for supporting other teams.Also, don't go there because I don't want my favorite cozy pub to become too overcrowded that I cannot find a stool at the bar.
Oh.em.gee!! Heaven in my mouth and a delightful environment. I would eat there every day if I lived closer. Excellent, excellent cheese steaks. I had a black cherry cider with mine,yum!
Raised near Philly, I needed to try Urgies cheese steaks with cheese wiz! It's Not great. The rolls were close, and whiz was good, but it was a pretty sad cheese steak overall. It's definitely a college bar atmosphere, which is right since it's near to the college. It was also a bit pricy for what it was. I don't feel the need to go back.
