We recently hosted a group dinner for the SWCW Board and Regents during our conference at the Hotel Madison. We could not have been more pleased with the excellent planning services of Joyce Sullivan, the Reservation and Events Coordinator for the restaurant. She worked with us in selecting the perfect menu for a variety of tastes and dietary needs, as well as setting up the private room just right for our little group. On the night of the event, servers Grady and Kayla provided top-notch service to our guests. When one of our gluten-free guests had concerns about the menu item she had pre-selected, the staff quickly substituted a choice that met her needs and tickled her palette. The next day when we had some minor questions about the billing, staff member Cameron Church met with me and was able to quickly resolve the discrepancy and immediately issue a refund. That is great customer service! Our guests were so pleased with the menu selections, the ambiance of the private room, and the outstanding service we received for this special dinner. As planners, we were thrilled with the personal attention our somewhat small event merited, and the quality of the interactions with the staff. We can highly recommend the staff and service at the Montpelier Restaurant.
$15 breakfast buffet with powdered eggs. The glasses are dirty every morning. We found mold in the cheese yesterday. The hostess mostly just sits by the bar and doesn’t greet customers. Great hotel with an awful dining place connected.
Half of our. party was served and finished and the others hadn't received their food. people came in after us and finished their food before us, Finally we had them box the Reston our food to go. They apologized and gave us a wopping 10% off. Wow. don't go if you want even service.
We came here for location and highly recommend. We had a extremely bad experience. They run out of many dishes out of a very short list, so we ate what they had. Food started to come in waves, so everyone ate almost alone. Desert was terrible, chocolate espresso, one of the worst cakes in years. Never will come back.
$16 breakfast for powder eggs, bag potatoes and wheat toast. Two stars bc the coffee was hot.
Best place for a food and a good time.
They’ve had good dinners in the past however they have a horrible breakfast buffet. Not only is the selection less than you would find at a middle of the road hotel but it was terribly overpriced at $16.95. Top that off with what was supposed to be “hot” food was room temperature at best. The boxed French toast was actually cold.
We had an amazing dinner at Montpelier on 2/24. Our server was absolutely wonderful and so friendly. We shared the fried green tomatoes to start and we both agreed that they were the best we had ever eaten. I had the Carmel Shrimp for dinner and my husband had the Brisket Sandwich. We also had dessert. The food was wonderful! The restaurant is nice and open and wasn’t very busy the evening we were there. I would recommend reservations if you are planning to dine during higher volume times.
Special Valentine’s dinner menu was delicious! Great portion, left without feeling overly stuffed and you could tell the ingredients were well selected.
We could not have asked for a better meal and attention to detail. Delicious original cocktails as well. Chef Beau is amazing.
