Took a chance and placed a carryout order while traveling the interstate. We were very pleasantly surprised - the diner is charming, the staff is beyond friendly, and the sandwiches are delicious! This is now on the list of places we "must stop at" when we travel I-81 in the future. The dog bones for our pup and the outdoor seating made our stop very dog friendly.
The cutest little restaurant with the nicest owner in the world. She was very kind and patient as we read over the menu. The food was great too. She should franchise the place, I'm sure it would be a success in every town!
Food was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. It was fairly busy and had to wait for our food but it was worth it. The tea and limeade were both homemade. The owner came over to apologize for the wait of the food and you could just tell that she deeply cared about the service and food quality. Small seating area but its in a converted house and is really quaint. Bathroom was immaculate as well. Hidden gem.
This place is so cute! The owner was lovely and very personable. I got the gluten-free Mama Mania and a cup of tomato soup. Perfect for a rainy day! The food was delicious! Will definitely come back while I am in town!
My husband and I ate here for the first time today. We both had Port Ruby grilled sandwiches which were more than amazing! We ended with the bread pudding which was truly the best I’ve ever had. Meeting the owner, Kathleen, was a true blessing. We definitely will be back.
Probably the best random find I've had. I came to Harrisonburg spur of the moment and found it while driving around. Great food, pleasant people, the owner checked in on us and asked what we thought. I had the grilled cheese mania which was a large evenly weighted sandwich if that makes sense. I could taste everything on the sandwich and nothing was over powering. Really enjoyed this grilled cheese mania only wish I tried the tomato soup.
Just passed through on a long road trip and this was looking promising on google... my expectations were that it was going to taste good but it ended up exceeding my expectations and beyond to overwhelmingly delicious! This place might just be the best grilled cheese and sweet tea you’ve ever had. It was for my boyfriend and I. Same with the sweet tea. Everything had attention to detail and you could tell every ingredient was as quality/fresh as possible.Very nice owner too. I wish this place was closer to where I lived but then I don’t because I would be in trouble ?
This place is awesome. Amazing food. Decent price. The best service. Try the Mac and cheese. Weather you eat in, cary out, or cater, there is nothing bad about them. It’s great food at a great price. I’ll be back again.
I spent an unexpected weekend in Harrisonburg recently after my son needed some medical assistance. We were lying low in a hotel and looking for come comfort food available via carryout. I have read good reviews about Grilled Cheese Mania so we tried it. I ordered and then went to pick it up, arriving right around the time it was to be ready. It took another 20 minutes to be ready. Not a big deal since we didn't have anything going on. My son's two plain grilled cheese sandwiches were wonderful. Mine was good, but I had asked for the siracha to be held and it was most definitely on there. I was just too hungry at that point to care. I would order again... but maybe for lunch instead. I didn't go inside to pick up (my son did), but it looked small inside. The outside area was amazing... I would definitely consider eating there in warmer weather when we could sit outside.
Our group of six spent yesterday in the Harrisonburg area after a two--hour ride in heavy rain. Later it cleared and the sun came out. We ordered our lunches via the internet before driving to the restaurant. Our order was filled absolutely correctly and we enjoyed five different sandwiches and two different drinks at one of the picnic tables out front. Everything was well prepared and very delicious! If we lived close, we would be back soon.
