We had my daughter's 16th birthday party here. They fed 40 people, I provided a cake. They were very accommodating and our drinks stayed full. I was really impressed with our party size how well they kept up.
While the food was good there were some notable problems. Firstly, there was some mix up where we were confused for a 20 person reservation, but we figured it out. While the people were noisy it was manageable, but our food came out in a strange manner, with some people getting their food within a few minutes and others within 15 minutes. Some peoples food also had the entree come out first with the sides coming out within 5 minutes. It was a.tad strange but the food was filling.
My family and I have been coming here for decades - it is a special place in Harrisonburg. We come here for numerous occasions: lunch, dinner, dine in, large take out orders for parties and etc.Their food is the greatest! Food is well seasoned, delicious and fresh. Drinks are wonderful. Menu offers varies types of foods & drinks. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Harrisonburg. I think that most local people here are very familiar with El Charro.I feel like customer service at this location can be a best lacking and a hit or miss.
Very good food. A lot of people with family, kids and friends come here. One strange thing which I experienced was when I ordered a margarita I was asked to show my DL/ID by the server. Well, may be their policy I guess. But no where else I was asked to show my ID when I ordered a margarita. Anyways that was not a big deal, the food compensate it all. The chicken tacos are delicious. This place is busy on weekends but you will get a place in no time. We were traveling and hungry and we made the best decision to stop here to eat.
I absolutely love this restaurant! I go all the time for dinner, lunch with friends, quick lunch before work, you name it and they are perfect for it! Everybody there is super nice and the food is incredible as well as the prices!!!!! I wish i could give it more than 5 stars!
The food was delicious, and the margarita was fantastic! They did not cheap out on the alcohol.Now, why the four stars... There was nothing wrong with the food or drinks, but we got there a little later, around 830, and they closed at 10. Around 9:45, all the employees started to hang out around where we were sitting, talking, and laughing; meanwhile, we were still eating. Then all of a sudden, they began to vacuum around our table; this was before 10 pm. We politely asked if they could wait until we were done eating before vacuuming; the waiter smiled and said yes, then all the employees started to talk loudly and laugh.Very unpleasant situation.
We went after ⛪️ with a group ranging in age from 5 to 80 yrs. Wonderful food, we all ordered different meals and we enjoyed our lunch. We sat at a spacious table for ten and talked about wedding flowers and told stories. The waiter was attentive, served us chips and salsa immediately, and kept our drinks filled. We chatted w the owner on the way in and out. He promised a big event on Mother's Day--there will be a M. Band ? playing during lunch and dinner‼️
The fish tacos are much better than any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Be sure to ask for fresh lime to squeeze on them. Never eaten anything here that wasn't delicious. The service is also great.
Valentine's Day dinner. Such a great time...The Mariachis were amazing.... they played for every table and they played well. Food was very good as usual and the service was great ??.
If you ever happen to be in Harrisonburg VA and are having a craving for great and tasty Mexican food, then El Charro is your place.The food is hot and quick to the table and the servers are super nice and they remembered all our drink orders from the day before with a large crowd.When I am here again , I will stop for sure.
