Stop on on a whim to treat myself. The entire restaurant is very clean, and stylish. The environment is relaxing. The staff is friendly and efficient with service. The food here is amazing. I love sushi this is some of the best sushi I have had in a while in this area. Reasonably priced and is worth every penny. You have to try this place out. I will have to come back to try the other menu iteams.
Food is great! Staff is rude!One star - your food sells it’s self but if the staff is making you hate being there you have absolutely nothing for your business.The lady that works there is extremely rude to me every time I come In, like she couldn’t be bothered with my business and she’s so rude about it. She is always trying to snatch the menu off the table and I have to ask for it back. I only order one thing at a time I’m a small person and I don’t eat that much. I like to enjoy my food and my sake. Today I was still eating my food it was every apparent I wasn’t done eating since I had only ordered 2 things and I was still looking at the menu. She brought me my ticket and told me to pay upfront while I was speaking in my next order. I just wanted to sit down and enjoy my meal alone and relax but I won’t be returning unless that awful lady leaves.
I’ve been going to the yamachen location in Chesapeake for years, while I prefer that location I did like this one too. Chefs were very kind and respectable, servers gave basic respect. Not as welcoming and the music is very very quiet so it felt more awkward to even speak too loud. Sushi was delicious though ordered 7 rolls and they came through. Next time I probably will just get take out though
I had two sushi rolls. Nothing really stood out to me. The decor was nice but I could smell the polyurethane from the refinishing. Service was good. Food was good.
The customer service was not good at all . The lady seating and waiting people was not nice at all I could barely hear her when she spoke to me . I never was asked if I needed anything or if everything was okay after I got my food. Even though it was just me and one other table, there was no attentiveness. The sushi was decent , the yamachen in Virginia Beach had better service .
I had a reward for a free specialty role. I ordered it and she said it wasn’t coming up on the computer and what an honor it even though she saw on my app. I told her to keep it… and she did. Never again! Horrible customer service!
I would rate zero stars if I could. There was a staple cooked inside of my sushi roll, and I contacted the restaurant about it and they acted as if I was lying. They were completely insensitive and not helpful at all. I am a regular customer at several Yama Chen locations and this experience has ensured that I will no longer purchase anything from them in the future. Please be careful. I almost swallowed the staple. This lack of sensitivity and compassion for a situation that have 100% could have been prevented and COULD have caused a serious health issue is ridiculous. I attached an image of the staple that was in the piece of sushi that I just ate prior. I am disgusted and completely disappointed by the customer service.
Great sit-down style restaurant with a varied selection of delicious food items. Food can be pricey depending on your budget though, be prepared to spend 25-30 dollars minimum for a quick bite or 100 dollars+ for a feast. Staff was always on hand with quick service.
This is one of my favorite sushi spots. The customer service is top notch. The staff even know my family by name even when we haven't been in months. They have a great select of fresh sushi. They never disappoint. I love that is never packed and the food comes out fast. This is always my go to when I have a taste for sushi.
