We ordered the heirloom caprese stack (heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella, etc) and when we remarked that the tomatoes weren't very ripe, we had to overhear snide comments (we were sat across from the kitchen window). We weren't sending anything back or trying to get anything free, just telling the waitress why we weren't eating it. When we heard them talking about us possibly ordering something else and "give them something else to complain about," we decided this was not the place for us.The waitress did end up taking half-off, though this wasn't our intention.
Visited this place for dinner. Outside seating is nice when the weather permits. Ordered the sausage bombs and pepperoni pizza. Both were too spicy/salty. Cranberry juice was watered down.
Went here for a family gathering. Everyone enjoyed what they had. The salads are HUGE! The onion rings are also huge and very delicious-crispy with a honey glaze on top. I had the beef french dip, which was very tender and had good flavor. The homemade tater tots were unlike any I've had before and also very good. The pizza is a pretty good size. I tried the wild mushroom pizza, which was VERY rich, too rich for more than one or two pieces IMO. Overall tho, we really enjoyed the restaurant. They also have pretty good water (for my water drinkers).
The other dinner options on the closed-to-traffic restaurant block in Hampton offer the ultra-predictable hamburgers and tacos. Venture has assembled a long list of creative small plates, some using local products, and the ones we tried were delicious. Stuffed mushrooms were particularly good. The staff was alert to our needs and made sound recommendations. Both a neighborhood vibe and gourmet ambitions.
First time eating Elk at this restaurant it’s so tender and favorable it will melt in your mouth. The wild mushroom gravy over rice was an excellent compliment to the meal. I would highly recommend it to anyone you will not be disappointed. The staff Tracy and the Chef were very nice and accommodating. Good food and good service is priceless.
Stopped in to try their tots and was not disappointed. The chef herself came over and chatted with us. We also had the tomato soup with grilled croissant. Oh my goodness it was delicious! But the absolute best was the blueberry bread pudding. I have searched many states to find amazing bread pudding and found it at Venture! The wait staff was attentive and very welcoming. I will be back for more!
Recently ate here twice, both times, solid service, very busy little place. Food is good! The only reason I didn't give it the fifth star is because of pricing. Our bill for normal group of four, nothing outlandish ordered was a bit high both times. We will definitely re visit and eat there again but maybe only for a special occasion. Times are a bit tougher for lots of people, it's a harder pill to swallow if we risk going out and get higher food bills for fairly normal stuff. Again, great food and good service, just a little pricey!
Creative, delicious food and drinks. Absolutely love their weekly specials and always have their main menu to fall back on. As stated in other reviews, their tots are a great spin on the concept (fried mashed potato).

This place was amazing. Have you ever done something, went to sleep, woke up and wanted to do it again? Me neither, but THIS PLACE makes you feel kinda like that. Everything, from the flavors, to the temperatures of the food, to the atmosphere of the place, to the drinks! Those drinks will turn a bad day into a great night. I enjoyed myself. I took myself out, ate at the bar and made friends. Doesn't happen often but, like i said the drinks there really pack a punch.
