I would consider this place out of the way. Out at Fort Monroe. Restaurant and bar are located upstairs, so be careful if anyone in your party as mobility issues. They were busy when we arrived on a Saturday evening... told it would be an hour and a half wait. 40 minutes later we were seated. Greeted promptly by our server. Ordered a grilled scallops special and the fried jumbo shrimp/flounder basket. Food took a while, but it was hot and fresh when it came out. Everything was delicious. The fried jumbo shrimp were spicier than I expected, but very good. The flounder and fries were very good. My wifes scallops special had lots of bacon and onion brussel sprouts, roasted sweet potatoes, and orange marmalade. She LOVED IT. The hushpuppies were very good too. The service was never lacking and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There is also a nice view and you can dine outside if you prefer. We will be back.
Probably the best seafood dish I have ever had, the Blackened Yellowfin Tuna Entree . My husband had the fish tacos which were amazing. Great ambiance and friendly staff.
The predictable menu for a waterfront seafood place turned out to be outstanding, with crab-dense delicious crabcakes and fried seafood basket with tasty, fresh clams and fish along with delicious hush puppies. The service was friendly and the atmosphere on a warm-enough spring night conducive to outdoor comfort. The long, colorful sunset view was a bonus. The only potential improvements could have been the drinks. The wine by the glass and house beers were not worth even the low prices charged for them.
Neat little place right by Fort Monroe overlooking the water. Was busy even on Tuesday evening that we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. There is a bar where you can get drinks while you wait.The food was good. We got the crab dip for the table as appetizer and it was really good. I got the blackened crab cake (which was recommended as opposed to pan fried). The crab cake was a little too charred for my taste but that was only in the surface. The crab cake was ok, the crab dip was really good. My colleague got crab stuffed salmon and really liked it. Overall neat little place to go and have some food.
Service was great - Katie was awesome! We were celebrating a 90th Birthday! The elevator was out of commission and we had an 85 and a 90-year old in our party. Other customers in restaurant went above and beyond to say "Happy Birthday" and to assist with maneuvering the steps. There are still kind people in this world. And food was delicious! My first time visiting, but won't be my last.
Today I ordered some To-Go food from what I thought was my favorite restaurant in Hampton. I literally go there 4/5 times a week. When I arrived to pick up my food I realized my Tacos had cheese on them. I kindly was trying to explain to the Manager (She was the acting bartender/to-go pickup rep) that my food was incorrect, however, she ignored me and told me to have a great day and enjoy the weather. When I finally got her to here what I was saying I was told that there was nothing she could do about it. I asked if the order could be corrected and was told it was too busy for that to be done. After trying to gain some clarity I asked if I could just place a new order and how I was treated got worse from that moment on. I was told since I come there so much I should know how the food comes and that the Manager had never seen me there before. I was so distraught I couldn’t even return the disrespect. I simply asked a waitress for the Managers name and once I got it I left.
When we first pulled up we weren't sure about this place as it appears to be a small warehouse that sits way up too high off the ground. When we got inside, we were highly impressed. This place was wonderful. The seafood burritto was amazing. The crab dip with ritz crackers seem questionable but we actually loved it. I will definitely go back.
Good food & good views in indoor or outdoor dining! Good service & a great ambiance! Great place to catch the sunset too!
