I recently went to Smitty’s for my dinner and I really had a taste for some fried chicken and not kfc or Popeyes. So I decided to drive to Smittys. I waited 30 mins for my food, which wasn’t a big deal because I just knew it was going to be so good. Boy was I disappointed when I opened my box. First, they didn’t have any hot sauce. That wasn’t a big deal because I actually thought the taste was going to be so good, I wouldn’t need any sauce. Second, the chicken looked like it was dipped 3 or 4 times in a batter that I would use to fry a soft shell crab. I overlooked that because I hoped that didn’t mean it wasn’t going to be delicious. The chicken was terrible. It taste like it was cooked 2 days ago and then refried in the same grease from last weekend. The fries were just as nasty. I didn’t even finish my food. The best thing about my entire meal, was the sprite and the ketchup. I thought about ordering a burger instead because those are usually on point but at that point, I had a nasty taste in my mouth, literally. I ended up going to Wendy’s. Smittys please do better. You are really slacking.

I enjoyed eating at Smitty's years ago, and on a recent trip to Hampton I ate there twice and Smitty's is as delicious as ever. I enjoyed a burger and tots one meal and a twirly dog and a hot sausage the next time. Both meals were delicious.
Can always count on the consistency of this locals favorite. The Better Burger lunch combo is a favorite. The onion rings always hit the spot. Everyone says try the Fried Chicken and you won't be disappointed, though I have yet to. We always enjoy on a nice day to have the windows down, eat homemade food in a outdoor family atmosphere. Only wish I could count on the delicious Apple Sticks dessert, but it seems to always be absent from the menu these days.
The food is great. I love the fried chicken and waffle fries. The burgers are really good too. I miss the desserts though. Everything is made fresh after being ordered. They even fry the chicken after you order while you wait. I have never had my order be wrong and I have ordered 10 meals at once to feed my family. I wish they delivered or partnered with a delivery service though.
Great American Classic ?. Pull up, waitress comes out to your car. Place your order hopefully a Smitty's Bacon Cheeseburger with cooked onions. Pair with childhood favorite Onion Rings. Yummy. Glad to have Smitty Better Burger Around!!
The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the food was actually somehow still edible, despite the time it was sitting out. The staff at this specific Smittys is particularly prideful considering they refuse to just re cook my order upon request. I ask for a re cook because my initial order was called in at around 2:00pm. But due to unexpected circumstances, I wasn’t able to make my way up there immediately and was only eventually free to go get my food until about 3:00pm. So, I call up to confirm my order is still there and they said yes. After, I was told I would not get a re cook for my order but was expected to get my original meal that was cooked almost an hour ago. Now, this is where I messed up. I continued to try and call from a different number maybe 20 minutes later. Ordering essentially the same meal but under a different name. Little to my surprise, wen receiving my order, I find it to be the same meal that the store cooked now almost two hours ago. The extreme measures they went too; just because they did not want to re make my order is truly the ultimate form of disrespect. Not even my Air fryer could fix that terribly cold meal. All in all, The food was cooked at around 2:00pm and they still gave it to me at around 3:30pm-ish; Just very disappointed in the staff, do better.
This stuff is soooooooooooo good any tourists or even locals have to come here in order to get the full experience. Well worth it. I recommend the Chicken Wings, Super Burger, BLT, BBQ, Fried Fish, Tater Tots, and French Fries. Try it and you'll never want to leave

My first time here and I got the Better Burger (single patty)... added bacon and cheese. It comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, mustard, and ketchup. The veggies were crisp and fresh! Burger was juicy and it was HUGE! Tots were fresh and crispy! This is such a awesome local joint and the staff here are sooooo friendly! I got Cindy and she ROCKED!
