I'm giving Bowman's Soul-N-The Wall a 5 star this was me and my Husband's 1st visit and we came apond it riding by going to another soul food restaurant and stumbled on it. I ordered smothered Porkchops, Collards & Potato salad everything!!I mean everything was delicious. My Husband had sweet potatoe yams, Salomon Cakes with Mac&Cheese both came with cornbread we were very much pleased and customer service was was very friendly and we didn't mind the wait the food was hot and again delicious 💞😋😋 ,Definitely will be eating there again Thank You Bowman's
This small place served us up a nice meal and great hospitality. They were short staffed but you couldn’t tell by the service we received. I left with a drink called blue motorcycle OMG!!!! Our server/bartender was great!
I’ve been here multiple times and the food has been great every single time. these last two times that i have ordered to go the food is just not good. I always order the turkey wing dinner. I changed it up and decided that I wanted to try the coleslaw it tasted like pennies and the turkey wings didn’t even have seasoning as it usually does. the manager has definitely got big headed. I was told that the wait is around 15 mins. I got there 30 mins later because usually it takes longer, the parking lot is very small so i parked by the door because it was no parking spots. the owner tells me to move my car because it was a party of 40 coming and I needed to move my vehicle. the parking lot isn’t even that big for a party of 40 people. he is very rude now. won’t be coming back.
The food was “ok.” Despite being told it would take 30 minutes for fried chicken to be prepared and cooked, I ordered my food ans waited. I know it does not take a full 30 minutes to cook chicken. Nonetheless, I was excited to try this place. I also ordered Mac n cheese & collards. The Mac n cheese was like warm to almost cold. The collards were seasoned well, just not to my taste. The rest of my family ordered smothered pork chop, catfish, potato salad, mashed potato’s and sweet potato casserole. The potato salad was bland but that was attributed to it not being an egg based salad. The mashed potatoes were boxed potatoes, yet clumped together and blended poorly. The sweet potato casserole looked appetizing. No one tried it. The fish on the fish sandwich was barely done⁉️⁉️ On the other hand, the chicken was flaky. The smothered pork chop’s gravy looked good but the meat was not very tender. Of note: the hostess was amazing. A real chill vibe and relatable. Some woman (I’ll assume a co-owner) came from the back to tell me my 5 year old could not stand between two stables and swing. Mind you: the restaurant had maybe one other patron, so it was just us AND the child had just been reprimanded for the behavior, by 2 family members. The woman said “ma’am she can’t do that.” I apprised her I was aware that behavior was unacceptable and she’d just been corrected. She looked at me as though she was offended that I told her I was aware. Customer service was not great in that respect, and due to this I changed my dine in order to take out. But the food was passable, especially when hungry. Funnel cake fries were good. The cornbread was amazing, but I understand it to have come from Food Lion & they dressed it up with butter
The worst customer services I have ever had. Order two fried chicken plates and was told it would take 15 minutes. Waited an hour and fifteen minutes to get yelled at for asking for a refund. After asking multiple times how much longer it would take we kept getting told that the chicken was coming up now and our plates were being made. The owner chimes in to tell us that the food is cooked to order and it takes time and they had thirty orders ahead of us yet the entire hour we waited there were three people waiting for food and two call in orders. The people who did get their food also complained about the wait and the other person who was able to get their food had to continue waiting due to them messing his order up. I wouldn’t waste my time coming to this waste of a space.
Tried to support local businesses. Food served cold, not seasonings, the waste of $30. Mushy rice, bland whiting fish, cold garlic potatoes (horrible), fried smothered pork chops a fail
I sat here food paid for it took well over an hour and 15 min. Waiting. It high reviews on Yelp so from out of town so thought it was a nice try. Well not sure but Chaos happened with several orders. Another customer waiting an hour and a half said food is good but they are slow. So there you go!
The food at this restaurant is wonderful! I ordered smothered pork chops, cabbage and sweet potato casserole. The gravy was banging! Everything was cooked perfectly. The cornbread is great too
I always eat here but past couple a times my food has not been good.. I never really leave reviews or bad ones at least but this place has gotten terrible. I order crack wings and fries there was barely any sauce on my chicken, My fries were cold and soggy, and it just unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong I love the young ladies working there but the food has just went down hill idk If the old cook left but he needs to come back. This is the second day in the row my food was like this the first time I just got a side of sauce but now I’m over it. I don’t recommend this place until the cook comes back. The owner himself use to be very pleasant now he’s always mean mugging and walking around with an attitude. This is not how a busy should be ran I’m a busy women my self and I understand everybody makes mistakes but come on now. Sorry Bowman but you need to get it together.
I was so excited to be able to fellowship with some older ladies at Bowman's. The event was booked in advance for about 20 ladies and all of us pre-ordering our meals. You would think that this was very good planning!! We arrive at noon, did a little meeting and greeting, and then played a few games. We were done around 1 pm. I noticed that one of the waitresses was checking on some of the ordered with the guests. Thought that it would not be too long before the food would be ready. Water was served along with chips and salsa. We then waited and waited and waited. Other people arrived, were seated and were served along with a few take out customers that came in, ordered and left with their food. We were upset and asked what was going on and why had we not been served. Around 2:20 we were told that there was only ONE cook and that we would be served shortly. I lost track of timer after this, but the food began to arrive maybe around 2:40, one or two meals at a time!! We asked about bread. We were served ice cold cornbread fresh out of the refrigerator!! Then before everyone was served, the owner arrived and headed straight to the kitchen. He didn't try to apologize to anyone, not even out host, for the delay. He only came over to our table to address three ladies that refused to pay for their meal who complained about their fried chicken. It was dry, looked over cooked and smelled like old grease. He said that it was freshly cooked. It looked and taste more like it might have been freshly cooked yesterday, and cooked again today. They were not charged!! No other discounts, apologies, or explanations were offered. I ordered liver, onions, mashed potatoes, and collards. The meal was very good and tasty, but could have been warmer. My daughter ordered the turkey legs, yams, and string beans and she said that her food was good as well but not hot. I didn't hear any other complaints about the food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The owner is totally unprofessional and unorganized. There were only two waitresses on site that I was when we arrived. Around the time that the owner arrived I saw another one or two. The two that were there when we arrived worked very hard to accommodate the needs of all of the guest, but they were working themselves to death!! It's hard to patronize ANY establishment that shows little or no consideration for its customers. I had planned to order my husband a dinner once my food arrived, but changed my mind cause I was just ready to go!! I will not return to Bowman's!!
