I wasn't expecting much and I was still dissapointed. This location is always dirty with a poorly kept buffet. This location doesn't offer much of the newer food options at other locations and doesn't have the freeze-slush machines that other locations have. The staff is always wonderful and incredibly friendly and fast. its just the owners that don't care about their business. I shouldn't need to drive an hour to Hampton to visit a GOOD golden corral
it was hot fresh delicious
5 of us dined at 2pm on Sunday. The food lacked seasoning and the steaks were tough and overcooked. Salad bar was fresh and large variety of items and dressings. The dining room attendant was great! He was efficient and friendly. Overall, there's a large variety of cafeteria food if that's your thing.
It was amazing!! I used to live down in Virgina and ate at the Golden Coral all the time... then I moved up North to New York where Golden Coral does not exist. The closest one is in Syracuse at a 2 hour drive and it was not worth the drive. This one however was out of this world. Tasted just like it did in my childhood; like happiness. I took my son here and was so glad I did, it was like a rite of passage. The food was delicious, juicy ,and crispy and fresh. I would recommend this place and will continue to recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know. I just wish there were more up north. You will not regret it!!
Golden Corral off Gaskins Rd in Richmond, Va, ALWAYS has perfectly cooked food, wonderful service from the staff, keeps EVERYTHING sanitized & clean and NEVER fails to have clean restrooms!! We have family meet us there anytime for dinner. One of the best waitresses there is named Angie with short, dark hair...usually works the left side, kinda in front of the salad bar. Whatever you have a taste for whether it be Mexican,Italian,Steak,Seafood or a really good salad, Golden Corral has it!! Why settle for an ole' burger or chicken nuggets when the price of a good, belly filling meal at a great restaurant such as Golden Corral costs about the same these days!!
The cooked to order steaks were not ready, and that was disappointing. Friendly staff, food is fresh and hot. Some of the desserts were day-old and a little stale. I miss the chocolate fountain.
Food ranged from good to bad. Fried chicken was very good, bbq pork ribs were old and dry. Fried fish was okay a little dry not much flavor. I had to hunt for tartar sauce. It was no where near the fish. And there was no soup. They used to have a good broccoli and cheese soup, but no soups at all. Cooked veggies varied as well green beans ok, collard greens needed seasoning, carrots were good. Quality is lacking, price is going up.
Dinner is a bit pricey, but lunch is perfectly priced. Their bread rolls,. Need I say more.I've eaten at Golden Corals in 4 or 5 different states over the years. And as a veteran, you can't beat their Veteran's Day Free Meal for veterans. To my fellow veterans, we have developed a reputation as not being good tippers during that day, and many of us sometimes can't afford to do more. So when you are on the upswing, please tip over your average to make up for those of us who are not.Golden Coral, please consider a year long discount for veterans as well. As a business consultant, veteran, and Google Local Guide I predict it would have a tremendous ROI. And veterans tend to apply the money saved from our discount to our waiter or waitresses (server) 's gratuity, so it all comes back to you.Only four stars because I think there needs to be a limit on patrons. There is practically no way to avoid breaking social distancing guidelines when approaching the buffet. That or staff positioned at the buffet to direct the traffic flow
The only thing any good was the ribs. Usually everything is very good. Bread was hard on the bottom, chicken was dry, server took forever to get me a glass of water.
Golden corral can really use an updated environment but overall experience was great. Employees were very nice and welcoming. Always checking up on me and my family. Good experience
