Just got out of this place 6/30/22. Ridiculously over priced!! Ordered the shrimp tequila. $25.00 for literally 6 shrimp and barely any vegetables. A bag of frozen 2lbs shrimp is about 25 to 30 bucks. The food was nothing special. A cheese Quesadillas, just one is 9.99. Yes! 10 bucks for flour and two pieces of cheese! The prices for this average food are nuts. For comparison, El vaquero west Haymarket, the Mexican grill, steak, chicken and shrimp with rice beans and veggies is $13.00. Skip El Tio till their prices come back to earth.
This quaint Mexican Restaurant located in the heart of Gainesville is amazing! I love the freshly made salsa. It has the right amount of lime, cilantro, onions and tomatoes. I really like how they give each person their own bowl to dip. The chips are freshly made and have a light, salty taste to them.I would spend the money and get the large size of the margarita. It’s a $3 savings. Definitely get the spicy jalapeño margarita. It has the right amount of kick to it.Service was amazing! Food comes out fast so ask them to hold off on bringing it so you can enjoy the margarita.I’ll definitely be back on a Taco Tuesday to try their tacos. ?

Drinks are always well portioned and the food is extremely good. Customer service is fast, efficient and simply excellent. One of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in the area by far!

Went on a weekend for dinner with family. One of the cheese dressing had hair in it and one of the main course fish dish had plastic wrapping wrapped on the fish.A few Mexicans guys sitting next to our table were loud and one of them was smoking e-cigarettes which was ridiculous. Would not recommend going with family!

The food was so good. Service was grand. The entire experience was delicious!! I highly recommend the steak chimichanga. I can not wait to go back and try something else.
