Finally went to La Petite last night for the first time after living here for 4 years. I was overall impressed with the food. I had the rockfish, which came with potatoes and broccoli on the side so I left very full. My boyfriend got the Dover which was seasoned with a nice sauce. The server was new but she did a great job and was very attentive. Overall we were really happy. The oysters were just very overpriced compared to others in the area. With some of the nicer competition in Fredericksburg, the prices just seem higher on a lot of dishes and not necessarily justified. I would go again, though and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor and quality of food.
My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious dinner. Aaron took such great care of us... and just about every other table! Fantastic experience.
We had a leisurely and delicious lunch. The service was excellent, too. The halibut is excellent and the wine list extensive. If in town, again, I will return.
The place is very nice, good distance between tables. The staff was very friendly and competent. We each had something different and all liked it quite a lot. Steak tartare, crab stuffed shrimp, croquet monsieur, chocolate fondant cake, and berries and cream. The only disappointment was that they were out of chocolate mousse.
We were a little disappointed in the service and appetizers; our server didn't bring an ice bucket for the wine and was just generally inexperienced. We ordered the foie gras and ended up to be a mousse, which we were not made aware of, plus it was served with what looked like Wonder Bread from a grocery store. We also had escargot, which was well cooked, but needed a break to go with it (not wonder bread!) The entrees, though were fantastic! I had the rack of lamb, which was exquisitely cooked and delicious even though the mint jelly was overpowering; the ratatouille and potatoes au gratin were both fantastic. My date got the halibut and was leary about the hollandaise with it but it went great with both the fish and the spinach risotto. We had the rum cake for dessert and it was amazing! Overall, I'll definitely go back, just have different appetizers.
Last night was our first time dining at La Petite Auberge. It was by far the best dining experience we have had in a very long time. The staff was attentive and the food was exceptional. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience! Thank you!
I almost don’t know where to start. I started with a Caesar salad. I asked if it is a “real” Caesar dressing. Not only was the answer, yes, but it is made in house. I had the half portion. It was perfect! I could eat it everyday. For my entree, I had the Calf Liver Lyonnaise. It literally melted in my mouth! Flavors, perfect! The potatoes were perfect! I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake, which they also make in house, to go. I will update once I taste it. I had the pleasure of being served by Levi, who was pleasant and well versed on the menu, which was helpful. If you read my posts you know I HATE pretense. This place is so subtle! I didn’t expect this at all. My new favorite local place. The only improvement I would suggest they make is to ditch the plastic “Thank You” to go bags and invest in paper with handles. You guys are waaaayyy better than that.
This place is FANTASTIC. The menu is reasonably priced for the quality of food. Reservations are easy and the bar area is very cozy. I've never had a negative experience and the service is incredible. My date and I shared the charcuterie, each had a soup, a fish entree, and dessert. Oh and a bottle of wine as well.
Chef owned fine dining restaurant with incredible menu and dining specials. They are what a Fredericksburg downtown dining experience should be. Attentive service, delicious fare, innovative drink specials, and warm cozy atmosphere.
Had a quick lunch at La Petite and can’t wait to go back. Really enjoyed the eggplant fries with goat cheese and honey! French onion soup was great, too. Great spot and nice decor.
