Good food and pretty clean; it's definitely a solid option for hibachi. For about 20 years, we used to frequent another popular Japanese Steakhouse in town, but it just started feeling dirty, and I had stomach issues within 5 minutes of leaving, so Kobe is quickly becoming our go-to.Recently, when we went, they were out of filet and chicken, which was odd but not a deal breaker, and it forced us to try other items that we might not otherwise have tried. Scallops were tender and cooked well, and the noodles which I had never gotten before were yummy and will be something I order more regularly.Service is usually good, and the chefs are always fun and entertaining. I don't know about you, but no matter how many times they do the initial fire thing, I still love it, LOL.Sushi is great here, too, fresh and made to order. If you like soft shell crab, the Spider Roll is a great idea.Lunch time is my favorite because instead of the usual veggies, you get sweet carrots, and those are delicious! You can order them for dinner as well, but it's an up charge. I find it worth it sometimes for a change of pace.Prices are comparable to the other restaurants, $20 -$30 per person, and worth it for a more comfortable, clean environment. It can get hot on a busy night with all the grills running, but I think they do a good job regulating the temp, so you're still comfortable and happy. If you're on the fence about trying them, I recommend you go. ?

Called today at 1pm to order a lunch special over the phone, then they told me they no longer serve the lunch menu prices and the menu online was wrong. Okay so I should have just hung up there but I proceeded and ordered anyway which was an extra $10 for the "dinner" prices. Once I showed up to pay, no one was in sight, I actually was yelling "hello" so someone would check my order out. No one came so I put the money next to the ticket printed for my order and took my food. I guess they figured it out by now. Keep the change, I will stick to Sakura's. Thanks ?

We love this place for a celebration or just to treat ourselves! Typically it’s enough food for us to split and order a side of another meat, soup, and salad. I’m always looking for their menu online so I made sure to take one today while I was there waiting for takeout.

Everything the food is delicious!

Very disappointed in this experience. Took nearly 40 minutes to even get a drink order placed. And the restaurant was not crowded nor necessarily busy. Ordered a Buddha adult beverage, as one does when going to a Japanese steakhouse, and it arrived in a daiquiri glass instead of the expected glassware. When I inquired about this, the waitress stated she had no idea what I was talking about. Ok, I can live with that, was just disappointed. While the food was good (not great), the teppanyaki chef was decidedly lackluster in performance; both in entertainment and cooking skill. He barely spoke, and just seemed to go through the motions. All in all it made for a meh birthday dinner.

I’ve been at Kobe only once but I enjoyed my experience and I am sure going back. The sushi is really good.

I came from Charlottesville this is the 2nd time I have been there in 2 years because my son wanted to celebrate his bday. The chef was terrible. He burnt the rice, he served the meat before the vegetables and he was not friendly at all. Japanese steakhouse is supposed to be fun and entertaining. He did no tricks at all.

Staff is always nice and enjoyable. Great food.

We had stopped going to this restaurant some years ago due to service, but decided to give them another chance because we couldn't get seats at any of the other Japanese steakhouses in the area.Big mistake. We arrived with a 6.30 reservation but were not seated until 6.45. Even so, it then took about 15 minutes for them to take our orders. I ordered iced tea, and it was either stale or "instant" iced tea (which is not what I expect when you're spending $50 per person on a meal!) I fortunately snagged a switch from the bartender who brought a beer, because we never saw our server again. Every drink at the table was empty halfway through dinner, but the water who took our orders never came back. The food was the best part, but even that was only good enough. The chef didn't really have much in the way of the usual showmanship and seemed inexperienced. There was nothing to write home about here, but this gets them a be second star. After we finished eating, the host working the welcome desk dropped off our bill and scrambled away before we could look at it, and of course we had been overcharged three separate times for a total of about $10. By this point, my wife (who never gets fed up) was fed up, so she went to the cash register and complained. This resulted in the two teenagers at the front starting at her blankly with no spent idea what should happen and no apparent intention of correcting our bill. Finally, they got the original water, who might also be the manager, and he grudgingly fixed our bill. There was no apology, and he seemed to think we were just being difficult, despite the party next to us acknowledging that we were billed for their drinks. When I go for teppan-yaki, I'm expecting much, much better service than this. It's a special occasion. It shouldn't be a miserable experience of such incompetence.Take your business elsewhere.

Wow one of the best meals I have had
