We stopped by Kickback Jack's for a late lunch. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had Philly Cheesesteak Sub Sandwich, pizza and salad lunch special and a Chicken Philly Sandwich with a side of buffalo sauce. Mmmmmm everything was delicious. Will definitely return to Kickback Jack's to try more menu items.
I arrived at Kickback Jacks in Fredericksburg around 1PM on a Sunday and there were only about ten customers in the place. The waiter came up I told him what I wanted to drink and eat. Unsweetened ice tea and a hamburger with onions and mustard. Ten minutes went by but still no drink. I saw other people come in and get their drinks right away. I tried to waive down the waiter, but he rather clean a table across the way. Another ten minutes later still no drink or food. The other customers were already eating. I thought about leaving. At 1:35PM I finally got the waiter’s attention. I ask if he forgot my drink, and what about my food. He said he was sorry and having a really bad day. I asked if he put in my order. He said in a condescending voice that my food was in the oven! He wrote down my order at 1PM but couldn’t remember what it was. The ice tea he brought me in a large cup had no ice in it. The hamburger was very dry. Like it had been cooked frozen in a microwave. There were no onions nor mustard. The French fries were soaked in grease and seemed to be warmed in the same microwave. Very poor quality of food and service! I was getting ready to pay the bill and asked for a to-go cup. I poured my left over tea in the very small cup and before I could fill out the check the cup started leaking from the bottom. I went to the manager and explain what had happened. He got me another cup of tea and processed my check. No apology, no discount, nothing! I filled out the check ($14.15) with no tip. This is the second time I’ve had bad service at Kickback Jacks! The first time was on a Friday night and they had the bartender as my server. You’ll get ignored when that happens. Don’t know what it is about this place. Maybe they just don’t like old men coming in there. On my way home after a brief stop at Lowes (I didn’t go in), I think I know why the waiter was having a really bad day. My throat is getting sore!
First time here. Sat at the bar. Great service and great food. Will definitely be back.
Great service, friendly staff and chill atmosphere. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was delicious, the greens were well dressed. My husband ordered the carnivore pizza and it was delicious, I would say almost the size of a medium pizza at Domino’s. The sauce tasted a bit like olives but it was good. The cheesesteak egg rolls could use a little more flavor but overall we were very happy with the place.
The review is my 1st visit. Service was good, staff was friendly, facilities were clean, beer was cold, food was hot and tasted great. Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone looking for good food at a fair price but also has a sports bar atmosphere.
Have Eaten here about a dozen times so far, great vibe, friendly and fast service, I always sit at the bar, fish and chips with extra tarter sauce is great, thin slices of flounder, not soggy, with homemade tarter sauce and fries about $11.50, their salads, the house and the fruity one are large and very good, (I heard the Caesar has too much fishy taste from anchovies so I've avoided that) I often substitute the salmon for the chicken for a few bucks more. Beer selection is decent, 6 Bears and a Goat Stout and Guinness are my go-tos. the fried shrimp on the day i had them were pretty small, chicken wings grilled, extra well done, with sauce on the side were very good, although a little small, but you can't go wrong with the ribs. had them at least 6 times and every time they are the same, very tender and delicious. overall a decent place to grab a 23oz for $7.00 or pints are on sale Tuesday and Wednesday and a decent bite to eat. better than average bar fair with fast courteous service at decent prices. I have yet to be disappointed or have a bad experience.
Food was hot and delicious, beer ice cold could mot wait to drink. Good time to go is during happy hour refuce cost for drinks.I ordered a hamburger which came out fast, fresh and hot. The server was very helpful on guiding us on our choices. Would recommend to anyone.
Fun place to go for happy hour with a room that opens to the outside. Three of us had the Thursday specialty drink and the others ordered draft beers. We had the loaded nachos, bacon fries, pretzel bread sticks, and the fish and chips. The nachos were huge and delicious!! You could easily feed two people!!! The bacon fries were also a hit! The fish was the size of chicken fingers with several thin pieces of either sliced or small limp white fish, like tilapia, rather than just one nice piece of breaded fish, like cod. We wish the pretzel bread was a little warmer to help melt the cheese dip, and the Philly cheese steak sandwich didn't have the sauteed onions. Our waitress made it clear to us that she was off at 4:00, and got our drinks very quickly. But then didn't take our food orders until 3:30 yet kept waiting on us till close to 5:00. Not sure what happened there, but between her and the other waitress, and the food runners, we all were served and no one had to wait for a drink refill.
Food is good, the only problem with this place is that they love to bring your appetizers and your meal at the same time. Which is extremely annoying. I know you like to rush everything, but let your customers enjoy their apps first, then bring their meals out. It feels extremely rush when you do that.
Never once had a place tell us we couldn't add cheese to french fries. You don't upsell in your own restaurant? And we can't have a party of 7 the time before we tried to come. Average food, average wait. I just don't know why I wouldn't go for the average food at buffalo wild wings that lets us customized our meals and has tables of 8.
