Horrible is all I can say!! If you never been don’t go!!! Unless you have your overnight bags pack to stay for awhile. STAY AWAY. Once you finally get the food… a PLATTER looks like a KIDS MEAL. I ordered the oyster platter which look like extra small chicken nuggets for 16.00. I did not touch any of my food and the MANAGER tells me …YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY A PORTION. Not to mention I waited 40 minutes to get my food. At the time only one couple was at the hole in the wall spot to be exact. But glory be to GOD some Lady volunteers to take care it because I actually felt like I was getting robbed. Never had service that bad in my life. They don’t deserve a star so 0 STARS for them. Don’t mean to be a bitter customer because the server was nice and she apologized unlike the nasty manger who was actually doing the cooking on this day. My feelings is really hurt I can’t believe that they still open for business. I would not recommend this hole in the wall to my worst enemy. Most hole in walls have great food….Unlike this spot.
Sorry but I wouldn’t eat there. Went in with my family and the catfish was raw not cooked all the way and the food was cold. Would take it off the bill said they already been charged. One person working there and no one else was in there to eat or came in the whole time we were there. The water that was served to us had no ice in it just gross.
Very friendly Staff. Food was good. Very few tables. Maybe only 4 or 5, 4 top tables. Music was blaring, which was odd. But overall Friendly place & good NOLA food.
Def the best catfish I've ever had. Oyster po boy was a winner. Wendy was amazing.
Should have eaten here sooner! Had the platter with catfish fingers, whiting & shrimp that came with cole slaw (made fresh) & fries, which was shared with hubby. Best catfish I ever ate. The whiting was crisp but tender, awesome very lightly breaded shrimp were juicy & flavorful. Authentic NO style red beans & rice added as another side…delicious! Topped off with an order of fresh, hot Beignets shared for dessert. Everything was perfectly prepared & served hot from the kitchen. Super friendly staff as well. Best seafood experience in a long time. Don’t wait to visit this hidden gem!
Ordered the fried shrimp and fries through Door Dash and it was excellent! Definitely will be ordering again in the future.
Yesterday (Christmas) we were on our way home and were starving and looking for someplace to eat. When we drove past JT's it was lit up and cars were parked in front so we figured they were open. Hubby popped his head in and they said they were closed, just open for a party. Regardless, they insisted we come in and eat. We did not want to disturb them but they said it was no problem. So we ordered, our food was prepared very fresh and it was great. They took amazing care of up and the catfish I ordered was the best I have ever had. Then as we were finishing up, ladies from the party in the other room offered us some delicious turkey wings and stuffing with gravy. I will never say to to a turkey wing and they were amazing. It was so sweet of them to take the time from their party to bring us some! Everybody was so friendly and kind, both employees and party guests. I felt so at home, and very very full haha! Thank you to all of you!!
It’s been okay experience. I think the food is okay & the gumbo is Inconsistent. I am from New Orleans I know what gumbo taste like . Where is the okras! YUCK! It is never the same every-time I order & for that reason I don’t want eat here anymore . The menus are different on every site some are cheeper some are super high . I don’t like inconsistent prices and recipes . I think if you fixed that it would be an enjoyable experience every-time .
We were so disappointed! We were the only party (of 3) there when we arrived, with the exception of one person who had already ordered. We ordered catfish with gumbo and 2 sides, wings, and a burger. Nothing that should take long at all. After about 30 minutes, we were told it would be a wait for macaroni and cheese. I asked how long, and was told they were making it fresh. I had to choose another side that they had available. They come to deliver our food after waiting AN HOUR, only to tell us they didn't have anymore burgers! My 7yo was in tears! It is so unprofessional and poor service to wait an entire hour to tell someone dining in that there is no food! At that point, we felt stuck! If you would have told us that as soon as you put thr order in, we could have had the option of leaving. I was honesty ready to go and so disgusted. I have never went someone and had such poor service. The other person there sent his fish back for being over cooked. Two other parties came after us, and one of them left due to the long wait. I don't ever need to go to this place again, and I do not recommend.
