This place has a great outside seating area that you don't even know is there! We were looking for lunch as we were walking Fredricksburg with our dog when we saw a patio seating sign outside of J. Brian's. Well lo & behold they have this huge outdoor seating area out back, and well-behaved dogs are welcome. No sitting outside you aren't getting that "pub" feel but it was still a good experience. The food was tasty and the prices seemed fair. the server started off sort of harried and rushed but by the time our food arrived ( which was fast) she was very pleasant.
Went for lunch, super busy but the server who wasworking was fabulous.Burger and fries were very good. Service was excellent!
They're batting .667.The beer was cold and the taproom was worth the visit - what's the word, the ambiance was amazing. The strike was the server who seated us outside and never came back to take our order (10+ minutes). We went inside and she questioned why we were bellying up to the bars. All the time she was leaning up against the bar BSing with another worker.
2 instead of 1 stars because of our nice waitress. Not sure if it’s because we ordered at 8:30pm on a Friday but my Reuben came with only a few scraggly bits of mostly fatty bits of corned beef and few pieces I literally could not chew, I don’t want to assume but easy to tell it felt 100% microwaved way too long.. it was too tough to even cut I had to demonstrate to the waitress when asking for a new one .. the kitchen didn’t make a new one only brought me out some more sad corned beef to add but it was just a really sad sandwich at that point and is a shame when we go out to enjoy some classic Irish grub and get served something like that. Fish and chips that my wife got were cooked nice but after 3 times asking for lemon we still couldn’t get a piece of lemon with any juice in it, literally only the pith left on it. Kitchen definitely wasn’t paying any attention or care to the details of the meal and only wanted to get it out fast before closing the kitchen.. not acceptable when we are paying the same prices, not as if it’s discounted for us just because you want to close the kitchen… for drinks go ahead but I don’t recommend eating here on a Friday night.
Just as cozy as I remembered. Stopped after Gary's first Friday for a libation or two. Had an Irish car bomb and a couple of Guinness's. Met some wonderful people.
Good selection of beers. Excellent patio in the back when weather is nice. Staff is genuine and friendly. Try the Rueben if you're hungry. Wings could be cooked for a few more minutes to get even a little crispy. Busy until they close and kick everyone out.
I came here on a first date in the middle of a snowstorm...and had a fantastic time! The food was really tasty (I got a BBQ chicken pizza), there were a wide range of draft options and drink specials, and they have Trivial Pursuit cards on the table which made for a good ice breaker.I plan to come back again soon :)
We went there many times this week while staying at the Marriott Courtyard. The pizza & Fish/Chips are delicious! And our server Jessica was absolutely wonderful!!
Pretty impressed with both the food and the drinks. Service is great and ambiance is very relaxed. I plan on returning soon.
Good food, great service. Had fun we quizzing each other with the Trivial Pursuit cards on the table. Turns out we don't know much trivia!
