I probably should have ordered the shrimp and grits. I decided to go for the burger and fries. I asked for the burger to be medium but the bartender said it would be quite red. I decided to go medium well done then. There wasn't anything medium about the burger. The food was OK. It wasn't stellar. The menu was pretty limited and the prices were pretty steep. I don't mind paying for a good meal but this meal was maybe an OK.
Lovely setting in an old bank. We were seated in the volt which was more intimate and quiet. The food was fresh and the wine selection good.
We ordered two take out dinners from Foode recently. One was Sylvanaqua Farms Pork Chop ($26) and Shrimp & Grits ($25). After subtracting fat, this is the remainder of edible portion. Would I return to Foode or would I recommend to friends?
If you are in Fredericksburg, I highly recommend dining here. We enjoyed brunch on Saturday. We were seated within 10 minutes despite being told it would be 30 minutes (other reviewers left similar comments). The food and ambiance are excellent. I had the chicken and waffle which was elevated with rosemary infused maple syrup. The biscuits with jam and butter was a nice start to the meal- classic, short biscuit with delicious jam. Will definitely return!

The wait was 40 minutes for a party of 3 on the weekend. That’s what they quoted us anyway although it didn’t take that long. They take your phone number and call when the table is ready so you can take the time to walk around adorable downtown. The food was extremely good! Hot and fresh, it was my first experience with chicken and wales and the chicken was nice and juice and the waffle was crispy. So good! Our waitress was sweet as can be as well!
Been here two times one for breakfast one for lunch time and both times were amazing!The capp and coffee are amazing, the steak tacos are to die for and we had shaved steak sub for lunch and it was outstanding and full of flavor and the break seemed like it was a fresh bake! It’s not loud and the vault seating is so peaceful! The wait staff are kind and super attentive! This place you must try at least once!
We enjoyed lunch here last Saturday. We didn't have reservations but only ended up waiting about 30 mins after being told it may take an hour. The historic details inside made a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our table was in the vault beyond the huge steel door. Our waitress was very friendly and informative. We ordered Biscuits & Gravy, The Princess Anne Salad with Salmon, Shrimp & Grits and Steak Salad Baguette. We all thought our food was very well prepared and delicious although a tad bit salty. We will definitely be back to try so many delicious sounding options on the menu.
Great service! Fantastic drinks. Wonderful atmosphere. The burger/fries, cheese plate, steak, and cookies were AMAZING. The shrimp and grits and fried thigh had some issues. Definitely recommend and will return whenever I'm in Fredericksburg.
