I have eaten here twice so far and both trips were good. the Boddington's was only $3.00 and the fish and chips lunch portion was just enough for me. the flounder fried was too much food, couldn't finish it. the collard greens had just the right amount of spice and the yams were ok, i think i'll venture out and substitute that for another item next time. the greens are a keeper though! I really like the whole tray they bring out with all the sauces, so you don't have to ask for more of anything. the food quality is on point. the flounder was a little thin resulting in the edges being a little too crispy, but the portion size is so large that I couldn't eat it all anyway so it wasn't an issue for me. next time it's something broiled like shrimp and scallops maybe. Definitely a return visit in my future. Cod is only available in the fish and chips.
We were in town for a tournament and we wanted seafood, while also trying something local. Saw this place here on Trip Advisor, and gave it a go. Because of our event timing, we ended up on the earlier side of dinner...which was fine because we had no problem getting a table. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but has a cool vibe. Food was good. We had the crab dip for dinner which my wife liked, but I thought was just "OK". She had scallops and really liked them and I had the crab cake dinner. Only mistake was choosing them to be fried. I've only ever had pan seared or grilled crab cakes...so I tried the fried option. They were good, but very heavy. Would probably not choose that option again. The hushpuppies and fries were also very tasty. This was definitely not our healthiest meal ever, but it was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly and really did a good job. I would return here if in town. The joint has the feeling like it would be featured on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives...and I mean that as a compliment. Nothing outrageously amazing, just solid food tucked away in a strip mall type restaurant.
My husband and I went to dinner he ordered the seafood platter which contained croaker bone in shrimp seafood platter he stated it was seasoned well and great flavor!! Also he received two sides with it!! I ordered catfish which was two pieces of fish and two sides it was delicious!! I'm not easy to please when it comes to Food!! I'm a great cook!! I would definitely recommend this a great place to eat! Everyone was professional and greet us with a smile!!
Wow! How did we not know about this place! Great service, clean lovely atmosphere, and spectacular food! The soul sauce has to be homemade, it's dreamy! The onion rings were huge, the collard greens were a huge hit with my husband, and my kids loved their fried shrimp. The seasonal crab soup was so full of meat there was bearly any liquid!!! Exceptional! We will definitely be back!
Alot of great things going on here! We enjoyed dedicated service and delicious food with nice portions along with the artsy decor and spacious atmosphere of this place. Unfortunately one of my cod pieces of my fish n chips was half cooked. That won't keep me from coming back. Rest of the meal was just right. Recommend that you try this place and don't forget to order your crab dip for starters!
Great food and Great service! My husband and I had the best fish tacos! He got a dinner serving of three and I choose the lunch portion of two tacos (which was plenty). Very crispy fries came with the tacos. We also had as an appetizer crab dip! Wonderful! Great price also!
The service was great. Restaurant was super clean. I loved the hushpuppies and fish. As you can see, the portions are large and I feel like you get your monies worth. It was super busy when we stopped here. Believe the other reviews. Definitely recommend eating here.
Love all the upgrades that this place has done. The staff is friendly, polite, and professional. Definitely welcoming to children. Only negative is whoever is making the macaroni and cheese is not consistent most days it's just noodles cheese and a lot of oil and grease on it, it lacks creaminess. The rest of the food is great, my family loves the chicken wings and Mambo sauce
Fish N Grill is my favorite place. The food is alway great hot and delicious
Every meal we have had has been great. The portions are always really good. My fave are the fish or shrimp tacos.
