really wanted to love this place after a dozen visits and food well prepared and tasty..yet consistency in my favorite dish wanes between dry and correct sauciness as of our last few visits ( linguini/clams…)the real rub….unfortunately when a server standing behind the bar ( no apparent bartender) with an obvious attitude told us to get someone else to get us a pepper shaker ( he was busy so he said (4 tables in the whole place) 4 servers and a back or two, that, was the last straw …we’ve watched the place go further and further downhill service wise …considering todays climate and gouging prices i’d think quality service would be paramount …pass on this place if you expect to be treated well . even the owner is salty … we’ve seen him be rude to his employees a few times over our multiple visitsthere is certainly no respect in the room …maybe it’s time to sell …..
In New York this week for business and Sfizi was recommended, and I live down the street - who would have thought, right? :-) They bring freshly baked bread with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip which was very good. For the main course, we got Chicken Parm and Lasagna, both dishes were fantastic, with salads. Chicken Parm was even custom grilled. For dessert, we got tiramisu and a lemon stuffed with lemon ice. Both were again, fantastic. If you're looking for a nice local non-chain Italian restaurant, Sfizi is fantastic. Service is prompt, wait staff is attentive, they have a full bar and a nice selection of wine. Garage parking is available and is free.
The Washington area has become a center of good restaurants. Sfizi is not one of them, in my opinion. Why? Two reasons. First, preparation of the dishes is inconsistent. But, then, the food is not prepared by Italian cooks. Second, ownership that's rude to customers. When we queried why an entree was excessively salty, the owner snapped that his kitchen does not add salt. He then noted that even his mother has complained that the entree is too salty. He then got visibly angry, stomped off, and we were left with no further service of any kind. We paid our bill and left. We will not return.

We were not disappointed with Bronzino fish, pumpkin ravioli, calamari, and crostini. Service was even better! This a destination stop if in Falls Church, Va. or Washington DC. Great job Sfizi.

I had the Gamberi and my wife got the Chicken Parm. Both were perfect. We also split a fresh cannoli for dessert. They have a fantastic wine selection and the staff was very courteous and professional. This has easily been one the best Italian meals we've had in the area.
What a great find! Authentic Italian food with a comfortable atmosphere and a great staff. Our waiter helped me with some of the pronunciations when we ordered and his accent actually made the evening more fun. I ordered one of the specials, a salmon dish, and my daughter had the rigatoni amatriciana. Both were amazing and didn’t last long. I had a glass of Montepulciano D’Abruzzo that just took me back to Italy! We both couldn’t resist dessert and we left with pasta, sauce, chocolate and cookies from their store. Very satisfying!
We've had take out but now, finally we're able to visit and eat in person. It was a fabulous meal, great staff, knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun. We'll be back!
I have been here many times & am here today. I love this place & our waiter is awesome. His name is Dato & he he always treats me like a princess. The food is grand. And the Lemon sorbet dessert is so good. Come eat here, you’ll love it
