Good food and the staff are really nice! The customer service really made this a great experience. The person who served us answered all our questions about the ingredients & toppings. Then while we were eating, another employee checked in on us, took our trash, and offered us a sample of the dole whip - which was was delicious. On our way out she wished us well and they were both just so friendly. Thanks, Island Fin staff!
Edit: This was quickly rectified by the owner.Last night my partner and I ordered online and when we got there, the restaurant was closed and a single worker came up to the door apologizing saying that they had forgotten to turn off the mobile orders at 8:30pm. We'd come to pick up the food at 8:40/8:45pm, which based on their hours listed online, they shouldn't have been closed until 9pm (there are no hours listed on the door either) and could have still made the order since it charged the card. The worker told us to "cancel the order on our end" but when we went back to the site "lunchbox.io" there didn't seem to be anyway to do that or even a customer service number, since it looks like it's just a hosting service. I've been here multiple times since opening and the employees have always been nice and the food great. So I'm extremely disappointed that this happened. We will be calling the credit card company to dispute this charge, but the owner should know what occurred/how it was handled and update their hours if they are no longer open until 9.
I really wanted to like this place because the staff are so nice and informative.My bowl was mediocre at best. The fish was fresh, but some of the toppings are really strange and did not taste good together. The fruit and veggies were also both bland and a bit sour. Their sauces are also kind of strange.My biggest complaint was the signage. Nothing about how many scoops of protein you got in a regular bowl Nothing describing the different flavors of the sauces. And nothing saying the premium toppings cost extra, luckily I asked.The Dole whip was quite tasty though.
The selection is pretty good. The toppings are great. The location is very clean. The actual protiens are very bland. My chicken was difficult to enjoy, even slathered in good toppings. The venting sound is so loud, you either have to yell or write down the order. Could be much better easily
This place is not a good choice for vegetarians,I gave it a try and got the build your own bowl. Something in the order had fishy taste and I couldn't eat more than 2 spoons from the bowl.The Dole whipped cup was refreshing and tasted amazing.
The place was really clean and the food was really fresh. I would have given this place four stars because I felt like the fish portions or kind of small, however I gave this place five stars because the girl at the register was really nice and she even gave us free ice cream samples. ?
I love Island Fin Poke, specifically the Falls Church location. They are so nice and helpful(i.e. patient) as you determine what you want to include in your bowl. This is one of the few places that I can feed everyone in my household and it not feel like fast food. Everyone behind the counter also meets you with a smile. The bonus....DOLE WHIP..it's a dairy-free lovers best friend.
Traveled here primarily for Dolewhip and the machine isn’t even running. Poki was fine but there are better options. Disappointed.Edited to add a star following owner response. If I ever decide to drive across the county perhaps I’ll try again, but I’m calling to confirm the machine is not “sanitizing”.
Good food but they’re really stingy with the fish portions. I got the 3 protein bowl and it only had 2 pieces of shrimp and a few tiny pieces of fish.
The salmon bowl I got was delicious and the many toppings I added to my bowl was also great. My only issue is that they gave a huge portion of rice, but a small portion of salmon. I felt that given the price of the bowl they could have given more salmonOverall though the food is great, and I'd probably come back as I live close by
