Stopped by here today to buy Ambo water, a Pepsi, and some rosemary and spicy dried injera chips (YUM!). The people working here are very nice, and I will be back. I strongly recommend this market based on my experience.
Deggi Market is known for one of the best delicious foods in the DMV and the best customer service. Their price is very reasonable and I highly recommend to everyone who likes Ethiopian food. check this place out.

Saw a roach and higher prices than usual, the food was okay, but not the freshest meat. There are better markets nearby. Don’t waste your time

I moved into the Skyline neighborhood 2 years ago and while moving in my son and I walked to Deggi's for some lunch to carry home. I was not expecting the most wonderful meal that I had experienced in quite some time! Now I don't even look at the menu (as I can't really read it anyway, being of Irish descent) and just tell the counter guy to surprise me with a meal. The extremely nice lady behind the curtain does her thing and everyone is happy! Oh, the coffee beans to take home are exquisite, I have no idea what they are but I grind them up sort of course and run 'em through my pour over machine and am sufficiently wired for the day. The added bonus is that often times I will have a very interesting chat with whomever is visiting the shop that day while my food is being prepared and I have had the most educational conversations and have been exposed to a far greater world than the one I occupy in NOVA. Deggi's is in reality a gem for many reasons.
Such a sweet locally owned family market & cafe! I have a whole new appreciation for Ethiopian food now, especially the yummy vegetables and injera!The market holds many treasures I did not expect like resin and wood incense pieces at great prices. They even have a beautiful selection unique dishes and tea pots.
