This was my first time visiting and I’m not sure if I’d return. Here are pros and cons:Pro:- great food, i got the steak fajitas and they were amazing. My husband and his friend loved their food as well.- Good atmosphereCons:- Extremely slow service - took about 20 minutes to get our waiter to take our order when the place wasn’t busy at all and then probably 30 minute wait for the food.-Over priced

We had wanted to try Cuates Grill and decided to order carry out. We were very pleased at how good all of the food was. The ceveiche was the best I've had in a long time. The food seems more authentically Mexican and less the typical Tex-Mex style. The quality was very good and not over salted. We'll be back.

Tried this place a couple of times and it is a bit inconsistent. Chicken empanadas - one had a large piece of bone in it. Chile rellenos are not very good. Mole sauce is too sweet. Tres leches was dry as a bone and dense dense dense - this was the biggest miss - I could not even eat it.Shrimp brochette are excellent.

CG is the new place in Falls Church for Mexican cuisine, so it needs to measure up against El Tio, Taco Bamba, and Urbano. It fails, but OTOH, I would say that I'll return anyway to try more things on the menu and because improvement is the name of the game.Where to start, with the positives or the negatives? Let's go with the negatives first and then there can be a hopeful ending. I stood five minutes at the front entrance before anyone greeted me. Now, that could be a function of shortstaffing in these trying times. And I'm not going to make a fuss about waiting. All I'll say is that you never get a second chance to make a first impression.Chips and salsa served right away but the salsa was uninspired and chunky. A far cry from Urbano. Cuates needs to get its game up here. Drinks next and that's key to a profitable restuarant. Enchiladas were fine, mole sauce was acceptable but extra charge. Food and drink quality both on a par with El Tio but lacked the bang of Taco Bamba. Truth be told it was more on the level of a District Taco. The chairs are not designed for lingering, let's just leave it at that.So what were the positives? Well the drinks were good, so bless them for finally acquiring their liquor license. The service was fairly quick and the food was hot. I thought it was a bit bland, but then again I didn't order it spicy, either. The decor is actually pleasant. The acoustics are not horrible. In general? This is a satisfactory place to go to when you want Mexican-style dishes. It's one cut above mediocre. The prices are Falls Church-ian so this isn't the place to go if you're on a budget. Might be more suited to getting together with friends after work.

It was good but over-priced. For example, they don’t tell you how much drinks are. Our margaritas were over $15- they tasted very mediocre. The skinny marg was $19.

The chili rellenos are really good. Not spicy but the pepper is velvety smooth, not too much batter, and the mole is perfect.

Really good chips and salsa is always the best indicator of a great Mexican restaurant and Cuates nailed it. Ordered a fajita combo and some tacos to share with a friend and really enjoyed our food. The staff was warm, friendly, and efficient. We'll be back to try the spicy margaritas soon!

A variety of menu and seating options here. They easily accommodated our group of seven. The portion sizes are generous and tasty. Good service and clean.

Excellent food and service! Great queso, ask for the green salsa, you won't regret it! Will be returning.

Incredible, fresh, and tasty Mexican food. Nicolas gave us great recommendations for salsas, food, and dessert. Attentive service and delicious food. We will definitely be back!
