I stayed at the Westin for 4 nights for work, this is the cafe in the lobby area, which I think is now called Blu. What I like is that I can sit with a glass of wine and my laptop and not feel weird while eating. What I don't like is the food is not great and seems very expensive for what you get. Last night I ordered the $32 filet. It was at far the least lean filet I've had at any price point in years. Tonight I ordered the chicken breast. Also didn't love it and felt it was overpriced at $19. The wine is decent, the sushi seems popular (it's made out of the Starbucks spot, go figure) and the avocado roll I had was decent. The bar menu also looks serviceable. There is a particular bartender that is quite friendly and improves the experience. All in all, I moved here from the Hyatt to be able to do more work, that worked, but really wish there were healthier, higher quality entree options. I don't think I'll be changing my reservation again.
There seems to be trend in the hotel business where the better facilities offer a limited but well done menu to the weary traveler. That way they can relax and not have to go out and explore. That was certainly the way with Blue. I ordered the Waygu hamburger and boy was it worth it. It was cooked to perfection and the tastiest burger I ever had. My wife loved her tacos as well. The service was excellent and friendly in spite of being short-handed.
Luckily my room covered my breakfast here as I was astounded what someone would have to pay for this tiny buffet, otherwise. The food choices were minimal. Food served at proper temps, but nothing to write home about. Politician pricing!
It's a rare and pleasant treat when the restaurant is a plus-up to staying at the hotel. Blue Fire had great service and one of the best breakfast buffets in the Westin chain. It's pricey if you don't get it as a benefit, but it is stocked with a high end food assortment.
Decent breakfast Buffett Pretty standard fare. A bit pricey. The service was quite good. As is to be expected the food isn't always as hot as it should be.
Talk to the staff! They're all great people. And say thank you to them when they've served you for goodness sake. They deserve it!
