Absolutely fantastic! Good portions, quite affable staff, and by far best of all was the food! All items ordered were star examples of fast casual cuisine, I will definitely be making a point of returning.
Best donuts I've ever had. The creme brule was my favorite though I've pretty much ordered all the donuts. Bacon was really good too and s'mores one.
Chicken was warmed over, not completely dried out though:-) Tots were yummy, freshly cooked; slaw was good. Giving it a 3 because we went for the fried chicken and I am sorry to say we won’t return.
Always delicious, try the donut of the month, Cherry Blossom is the best. The chicken on savory donut sandwich is fantastic too.
A subpar first and final experience —The donuts took an hour for delivery, which in itself is fine as it was a busy time but I got only 2 of the donuts I ordered and the rest were ones I never would have picked.Had they messaged me to ask, or called, I would have cancelled the order entirely as I’m not keen on paying a premium for something I won’t like. Now onto the donuts themselves — not great. Bland yeast dough with a glaze that didn’t provide the sweetness to make up for it; they almost tasted like I took a bite of raw dough after it was proofed, that’s how yeasty and bland it was. They’re large, yes — packaged nicely, but that’s where compliments end.Maybe I’ll try again for chicken or try to get the donuts I wanted, but more than likely I’ll order from somewhere else.
Stopped by recently and ordered several donuts. Astro is located in a convenient location off of Route 7 in the Tysons/Falls Church area. The parking lot is extremely busy since they're next door to a Whole Foods, so plan accordingly. Luckily, I found an open parking spot right in front of the store.Unfortunately, the gentleman working at the front was not friendly. He made a rude comment in regards to folks not utilizing the self service kiosk, which is unprofessional, as customers have the option to either order directly from the cashier or the self service kiosk. The donuts I ordered were delicious with the perfect balance of sweetness. The donuts are also a fairly large size.Prices are on the higher end, but they were delicious, so it was worth it.Overall, I'd recommend giving them a try strictly for the donuts, but unfortunately, the service left a bad taste in my mouth.
My college bestie is from the south and is always down for fried chicken. She’d mentioned wanting to try it so I figured I should help her make that happen. This location is small and seems to be mostly used for carry out. But we were happy to stay and enjoy ourselves at their table top for two.I kept my order basic - chicken strips, fries and a chocolate chip cookie. The chicken was very moist/tender with such an awesome crunch and so much flavor! The fries were great with the fresh ranch sauce. Lastly, that cookie! They’re huge!! The outside has a crunch, but the inside is gooey and delicious! If you want them baked fresh (and you do!) you might have a ten minute wait. But it’s so worth it!
Highly recommend the old bay chicken sandwhichBuilding is in a strip mall kind of complex. Small inside, there are two two top tables and a five seater bar style table top against the wall. Mini fridge with drinks, coke, sprite, lemonade, water, etc.Employees were very nice and helpful, this was my first time there and they were very informative and happy to help.
We love doughnuts, but the quality here seems to be going downhill, unfortunately. This is the second time that we’ve had doughnuts with little to no filling, and that our order was incorrect. The staff was less than stellar- the curly haired young man wasn’t enthused that we wanted to order doughnuts. The young lady was friendlier, but made us purchase a cup of ranch for $1. Seriously? We ordered tater tots, but had to pay for two tablespoons of ranch. They both mumbled so low that we could barely understand them. The DC location was great 18 months ago, but this one lacks. Also, what is in the ‘powdered sugar’ they put in their doughnuts? It’s not sweet, has an weird texture- just very odd. I know there is a ‘donut powdered sugar’, but this isn’t that. Seems to be for appearances only, as you are better off wiping it off the doughnut. It’s unfortunate that Astro has fallen into the trap of losing quality when they gain multiple locations. No plans to return.
Love the chicken and the donuts! The maple bacon donut is a must try and the honey mustard is delicious.
