Don't go on a FRIDAY NIGHT! Only 3 ppl working. The chicken tasted uncooked and the rice is stale. Definitely not worth the 30 min wait and they did an online order before attending me after already waiting for over 20 mins to be placed on another hold until they finished the online order of the guy standing behind me originally in the line.
I ordered the Chicken & Beef Gyro Platter with extra red sauce and Baklava. Both were very delicious and I loved how spicy it was with the extra sauce. I recommend this place!
staff was friendly, the worker that served me my platter was also super jive and served a good amount of portions for the steak and chicken . will be coming back!
The moment me and my friend walked in we were rudely greeted by the one girl worker… it was very rude and lacked patience and communication skills… not welcoming at all and felt a bit targeted
My friend and I drove 20 minutes to try this restaurant. We were so disappointed. We ordered Gyro Combo (sliced gyro meat and chopped chicken) Sandwiches. The slices of gyro meat were very thin and very small/short. They must have been sitting on a warmer or some such thing for hours. The result was dry, greasy and salty gyro meat. The chopped chicken was also salty, not as dry, but not good. The staff members were nice. They put a lot of meat on the sandwiches. The problem was that the meat was awful. The white sauce was terrible too, like runny mayonnaise. I’ve eaten great gyros in other places. The only good thing here was the pita bread and the chopped tomatoes. Never again!
I had chosen beef shawarmas and beef Shawarma plate,. Staff was friendly, but it was any other shawarma,. Meet was dry and little salty for my taste. The only in USA I have seen pita bread used for shawarma, it should have shawarma bread.
The food was inedible. I have no idea how they stay in business. The falafel was the worst one I've ever tried. It was hard, crumbly, and dry as the desert. My grandfather is Middle Eastern, so I've eaten a lot of falafel in my lifetime. The bowl had no flavor besides the sauce, and the flavor was definitely off. I threw the entire order away.
Halal guys is a franchise which serves "permissible" foods per Islamic law, similar to Kosher. Anyhow you are in for a treat if you go to this simple eat in/carry out establishment. Food is always well prepared, with excellent flavors, and always plenty to eat. One of the "comfort foods" I rely on when I don't want to cook. I would encourage you to try if you have not tasted Arabic prepared foods. Besides that, the location where I go (Fairfax VA) has great staff that will help guide you thru the different varieties of protein.
Very impressed with my visit to Halal Guys on Braddock near GMU. Really like the selections on their menu. The restaurant is clean and the staff are looking out for my health still wearing masks correctly. Most impressive are the friendliness of the staff and the value of the meal. They are generous with their portions. Highly recommend this one store.
Hadn't been to I e in a while. Was both shocked and disappointed at the nickel and diming going on with regards to toppings. Toppings that were one included are now $0.50-$1.00 each. Of course the guy putting together your order acts as if they are included and only mentions the extra cost as he's putting them on. Freshness also seems to be an issue. Between this one and the one in Ashburn I'm done trying.
