Do NOT order from here via door dash. If the restaurant is just a little “busy” they don’t confirm your order. The door dasher was notified too late, wasting his time and money and i still had pay the fee. When I called, they just keep saying “we didn’t confirm, we are busy”. I was a super loyal customer for years and this is the treatment I get? No more.
Excellent menu and service. Food quality is perfect. This location is older so the decor is a little outdated, but our family always has a fun and memorable time, not to mention a delicious meal and plenty of leftovers for the next day. Great birthday spot. Kids love it, too.
Ordered take out Thursday April 14, it's going to take 45 to 50 minutes. Got off the phone at 7:19pm. Arrived at 8, they said 20 more minutes. Went to the car came back in 5 minutes later because my son had to use the restroom. He went back to the car and I stayed to wait for the food which didn't come out until 8:40. And to top it off they got the order wrong. My favorite restaurant let me down as if it were McDonald's.
The food and the experience was great, it was a good time for the kids. Good portions and the entertainment was good. The sushi could have been better in my opinion but that's not what why we came lol. We got tried to call and make a reservation and the phone line was busy so we came in at 6:30 and we're able to get a table within about 15 mins thankfully because the entire restaurant was full. Orders a Cosmo, two Steak and chicken combos two kids steak meals and 4 rolls of sushi. Spicy California roll, shrimp tempura roll, spicy yellowtail roll and a Philly roll.
I have been eating at Sakura for years and last night was the worst experience I have ever had at any Japanese Steak House. The waiter was very inattentive and brought the wrong drinks several times. The chef burned every part of our meal. The rice was hard and burnt. The shrimp were over cooked and rubbery. The vegetables tasted burnt. The salad was the best part of the meal. Very disappointed!!
Our dinner was excellent, but as we were finishing, a waitress behind us spilled a couple glasses of red wine, getting it all over my husband's coat and my sweater. We understand that mistakes happen, but no apology, or even acknowledgement, was ever made. My husband tried to speak to the manager and was told that he was out at the liquor store. (This was during prime time for dinner on a Saturday night.) We finally just left. It's too bad that the cook's hard work was undercut by such shoddy service.
Chef Woo was absolutely amazing!! Had steak, lobster and shrimp all for 41 dollars. Had great alcohol beverages. Amazing fun experience!! Would go again.
The food and service are outstanding. The quality of the food is high and very tasty. They also give you a much larger size and amount than other similar Japanese restaurants. Lobster was off the chart, tasty, filet was nice and tender, shrimp was tasty. I was very impressed. This is also a value for the price. Great place.
Horrible service. Our family has been dining at the Fairfax location since it opened 20 years ago. Today a new male server served me a tea and a salad and never came back. I had to stop eating as I was choking on fried rice without a drink! After several attempts and 20 minutes later I received a refill. I asked the waiter to comp my tea. He came back to say the manager will not comp it as I eventually did receive a refill. Yes, after I went to the bathroom and drank water from the sink! The manager was rude, uncooperative and stingy. He ended up interrogating the server who lied and said he offered refills. Done with Sakura Fairfax. Times are so tough they can’t provide good service!
My family and I had a great time at Sakura. Even though you generally get the same experience at all locations, the chef is usually what makes all the difference. Daniel was entertaining, funny and definitely what we needed in order to have a good time.
