Food was decent. Service was good, but check your receipt prices compared to the menu prices. We got a kid’s cheeseburger - listed as such on the kid’s menu - and were charged extra for the cheese. We also got the Sidecar Special, listed as $9, but were charged $11 because “some of the side items cost more than others.” Lastly we were charged $20 for the Tennessee Triple instead of $17. They did adjust it by $3.50 when we asked. I understand the economic situation is difficult but transparency by posting price changes is the better way to go.
This is everything I order , foods all gone so no food pick, How The F , does this place only have have 4.1 stars , Let me tell y’all Texas Briskit was fire , I also got a slab of ribs with the surfing sweet BBQ , men that was good, and the Wings with the sweet chilie sauce 10/10, everything was really good , that chocolate cake and bread pudding with the Ice cream and Carmel sauce was the icing on the cake , highly recommend this place.
Disappointing service. Your curbside sign says to call if you're not greeted by someone in a minute. Okay, no one comes out. Call and someone comes out to tell me my food will be right out. Wait... 20 minutes later, I have to go in to ask where my food is and even then it takes a few minutes to locate it.... and it's just been sitting there on the bench with all the other carryout food. Don't even get me started on the jerky dry brisket... terrible. The fries missing the signature rub...
The good: the food we got was actually pretty tasty. I would 100% eat the food again. The bad: The portion size and cost doesn't really match. I understand we are in rough times, but paying for a family meal that was advertised to feed 5-6 people and you get enough to barely feed 3, is quite disappointing. Maybe if the menu spelled out what 5 people's worth of food is (example 2lbs of meat, or whatever), it would better set expectations. The ugly: I ordered the food online to go and the instructions indicated to park in a certain spot. I pulled up, and there was an employee outside. The employee say us pull up to the spot, but never came to greet us. I waited about 15-20 minutes, before I finally walked in. Employee was behind the counter shooting the breeze with another employee. Our food was just sitting there.Again, I try to be understanding, given worker shortages and what not, but this just seemed like poor customer service. The only thing that would bring me back to the restaurant to eat again is the fact that the food was really tasty.
I have dined at Red Hot and Blue in different areas and the BBQ is the best unfortunately the one in Fairfax is horrible! We dined on Saturday evening and the place had maybe 8 tabless occupied. We were seated immediately and waited for about 10 minutes before being greeted by a server. We ardered a half rack of ribs and the fish and rib platter. When served we were given plastic utensils and told the regular silverware had not been washed. The ribs were dried out and not even sause would help. The sides potatoe salad and mac and cheese was tasteless. We were so disappointed since there are so many good restaurants. Every other diner was given plastic utensils also. Stay away!
I'll admit upfront; maybe a Sunday lunchtime isn't prime time for Red Hot and Blue. Sadly, I won't be back to try it again.Staff was friendly enough. At a glance menu pricing was competitive with other BBQ spots (such as Mission BBQ).Ordered the burnt ends with baked beans and hush puppies. I got about a hungry man TV dinner portion size of food. The burnt ends looked like they were cooked the day (or days before) and reheated in the microwave. The baked beans tasted like they were Busch's Baked beans right out of the can, and it's hard to mess to hush puppies if they aren't fresh (maybe 5 total).I was done eating in 5 minutes, didn't touch the beans again.Wife ordered pulled pork, it was cold.Restaurant wasn't very clean. The staff (they were friendly! ) Were busy sitting in the bar area, chatting it up (could have been sweeping last night's crumbs off the table, or yesterday's BBQ SAUCE off the chairs).Best part of the experience was naming off the bands from the posters on the wall.Did I say anything to the staff before I left? No. Because the only reason I picked this place was for the fried okra, which was the only thing my wife enjoyed. Only reason they get two stars instead of one....Chief Karen Compliant:Kids activities menu, but no crayons.Out of chocolate for kids chocolate milk. Can't say I recommend this Franchise location to anyone. Buy some charcoal, do it yourself!
We came here for lunch today, 1:30 on a Sunday. We were the only ones there and should have taken that as a sign. I ordered the pulled pork platter with red skin mash and okra. Pork was cold and dry and the mashed potatoes were instant and watery. My husband had the burnt ends, and unfortunately they were probably prepared by Chef Mic-rowave. The restaurant was dirty, which crumbs on the chairs and bbq sauce on the floors. Our waitress was sitting having a conversation and so the manager/owner brought our food out and called her out to take care of it. I’m from Texas and have been to Red Hot and Blue several times back home, so I chalk this one up to poor management and lack of leadership. We will not be back.
At the Fairfax location you get this tiny plate of a few pieces of lettuce and some dried up meat for a smokehouse salad. I went to the Warrenton location and got a huge plate with moist meat and I had a hard time trying to eat it all. I do not recommend the Fairfax location.
I went on a Saturday night and I was the only person in the restaurant. The catfish was good and the sides were pretty good but the brisket was very disappointing. I definitely would not go back.
I got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw which was good. It only comes with 1 side but I really wanted both potato salad & hush puppies so ordered an extra side & both were good. My dad was happy with his ribs & catfish with hush puppies, fried okra & fries. There seemed to only be one waiter working. It wasn't that busy in the restaurant so it was fine, but they obviously gave up on wearing masks.
