One of the best Chinese restaurants in Fairfax area. Authentic Chinese cuisine and delicious. The staff are friendly and nice. You can request no msg or less salty. Food taste are consistent.

So glad I found this place, such amazing Huaiyang style Chinese food, with some Sichuan dishes as well. Not your typical American Chinese joint.

I've only had takeout from Nanjing Bistro but I am impressed by the quality and service I received. The bad reviews are mostly from people expecting the Americanized Chinese food which this restaurant is probably not good at. But if you want an authentic experience, Nanjing offers a special local flavor from an area in China rich in history. Yes the food is a bit on the pricy side than a typical Chinese restaurant, but many of these dishes are really difficult to make at home, like the handmade meatballs. And the portion is huge. Try if you want to try something new, avoid if you are less adventurous. Better yet, go with a Chinese friend.
