I highly recommend the donuts. Visited Fairfax duck donuts about a month ago. However, the service was horrible. The staff was unfriendly, the cashier never greeted us and just took our order and passed it on to the next person. The T-shirt she was wearing was dirty and covered in flour. Maybe an apron that could be changed when dirty would be a good idea. The young lady who put the toppings on the donuts kept looking over her shoulder at a child who was crying and glaring at the mother. She was slow anyway and that made her even slower. When she finally gave me my order, again no greeting just slid the box toward me. I Commented I was missing missing one donut. Her reply was oh yeah I forgot to put that in the box. No apologies or anything. So as I said the donuts were great. Absolutely love them. But the staff need some training in customer service.

I moved here from the Outerbanks so I have been to the original Duck Donuts a lot over the past 20 some years. There is something that just doesn't catch the true authentic flavor. These are good and since the Outerbanks is hours away I will still eat these when I get a "longing for home", but there is a difference. Maybe it's the salt air. But these do not taste the same, still good but different. Enough that I noticed it at first bite and came home and googled if the recipe had been changed. Maybe as another person mentioned in their review its the fixing of the donuts but I got cinnamon sugar, plain, and two with chocolate. Kinda hard to say the taste was off due to toppings when it is a plain donut! Also the inside of the donut seemed much lighter in color than what I get at home. Still a good donut though. The person who took my order was not friendly, a little off putting, it was like she was not awake yet. I was the only customer but the young girl who handed me the finished product was very sweet.
Service was fast, and I like that you can customize your donuts with a variety of toppings. I tried a variety, and while they were good, there was one that stood out from the rest - the maple bacon donut. They are addictive. That will be my go-to donut now any time I have a craving.
Great custom donuts Served fresh from the friar and decorated with toppings of your choice, clean, efficient and great customer service. They also have great coffee drinks hot cold and shakes, Recently they've been making donuts sandwiches that are out of this worldI love going to this place And I uh and auh about it to my friends and family
