Great food and great service!
Great casual dining atmosphere and stylish, hip, interior decor. Nice menu selection as well and everything chosen was delicious. Staff is great - friendly, polite and professional. Our waiter was amazing. Friendly, with a good sense of humor and totally on point in all aspects of his duties.
Great location, waitress was very helpful and the atmosphere was great! Recommend
I decided to visit on a Sunday to enjoy a warm weather evening at the open bar with which I am familiar. The lone barkeep (Lauren) greeted me and asked my name within a minute and just afterwards I had a menu. After perusing the choices I decided on a leisurely meal that started with a mojito, kale Caesar salad, and bread basket, continued with a double entree of fish fingers followed by salmon with a couple of side substitutions, and finished with the chocolate waffle dessert. Pacing of each dish felt well controlled, as Lauren kept regular contact with me and other customers during my time. Service by the runners was quite prompt and cordial throughout. My drink had nice balance and taste. The salad felt a touch overdressed, even if the crisp croutons, sharp flavors, and overall portion were both reassuring. Bread was thankfully as I remember with rolls appropriately warm. Fish fingers had a warm, crunchy texture and soft almost melt-in-your-mouth fish. Fries were likewise warm and crispy for a sweet potato variety. The cole slaw garnish had uniform cut cabbage and fresh taste, even if again I could do with a little less dressing. I asked for salmon rare with broccolini and the corn/cucumber/tomato salad subbed for the cauliflower mash. Fish temperature appeared to be basically rare as asked and thus retained the satisfying flavor I expected. The broccolini was cooked well for the most part and accompanied but not covered in cheese. The salad tasted light and fresh as desired. Finally, the chocolate waffle had a decidedly chocolate flavor coming through a restrained portion I welcomed to avoid overindulging. The ice cream held its shape while I was eating, although this was one dish that made me wonder whether it had sat for a few minutes before being delivered since a little of the ice cream had already melted. No matter though, as finishing posed no troubles at all.The total bill with tax came to just under $70 which with the prices of today did not seem unreasonable. An eating event here might not qualify as a value pick or not-a-value pick from my perspective. For a stop while in the area or a pre- or post-movie lunch or dinner, these offerings easily and reliably satisfy with a truly casual atmosphere, professional staff, and well cooked food overall.
Great food and ambiance. The shrimp cocktail is really good. The crab cake sandwich has little filler and is delicious. The chicken havarti Sandwich is awesome and tasty. Margarita is always perfect. The sea bass is nice, the taste is a little too sweet for my liking. You can't go wrong with Great American Restaurant group. Their food is always good.
Coastal Flats prepares excellent food with exceptional service in beautiful surroundings. The fish tacos are the best main course. Tge cucumber and tomato salad is phenomenal.
We (3 adults and a service dog) stopped by to have dinner at 2048 and the hostess seated us. We requested a seat on the patio and she asked if a hight top was ok…we said it was. Once we sat down the bartender came over and informed us that the bar was closing but maybe a server could accommodate us, we said that was fine..we understood. The bartender went inside and there seemed to be a discussion about us. Then a manager comes out and asks us if our dog is a service dog. The dog was sitting quietly under the table and has a service vest on. We said he was but then the manager proceeded to tell us that the bar was closing and they would not serve us. We were disappointed and embarrassed. The patio was more than half full of patrons but we left humiliated and went to Ozzie’s. The Ozzie’s bartender Rachel was fantastic, she set us up and even brought our dog a bowl of water. Next time we will just skip coastal and go straight to Ozzie’s!,,, FYI, when we passed coastal to go to our vehicle there were still patrons on the patio and at the bar.
We were all full and satisfied. It’s the kind of place where you want to try everything on the menu. Drinks were decent… sangria was excellent!
My wife loved her dinner, the salmon which she said was excellent, as I remember it. In this area, and specifically this center every restaurant, even Burger Shack has at least two or three decent vegan options. Half of the restaurants next to this one have a vegan menu. I would be giving five stars anyway if the waitress hadn’t started treating me like a freak after asking if there were vegan options. Her demeanor changed immediately as if I was obnoxious for asking. But she wouldn’t look me in the eye or ask me anymore questions after I asked initially. She never refilled my drink the entire time or looked at me after that point and she made it really awkward by specifically avoiding eye contact and not talking to me. The manager was super nice and I appreciate that he didn’t lie or try to push something out that would’ve gotten me sick. Apparently they don’t have olive oil, they use butter or eggs on or in absolutely everything, even the rolls which a couple reviews for a different coastal flats said were vegan. Kinda wish they weren’t pre-made because I remember how good they were and I wanted them. The manager offered to rinse the butter off some noodles but my system is just bad with dairy. To be clear, I didn’t go vegan by choice. By body got really weird about dairy and meat and egg proteins after getting Covid. I had to get tested to figure it out. My choices are get weird scary looking psoriasis on my face and scalp or don’t eat any dairy and meat and alcohol… since Covid is still around I can’t take the meds that keep Covid at bay because they all work by suppressing your immune system. It sucks. I used to love this place a few other Coastal Flats locations have reviews showing they have vegan options. I should’ve called ahead and asked. Again, it would be a five star review ANYWAY if the waitress had acted like the manager - polite… understanding and courteous. I expect a waitress to think “this guy still drinks liquids and probably wants a full drink. He’s still a human.” I didn’t stiff her tip. 20%. Don’t assume I’ll be a d*ck because life forced a weird diet on me when I spent a month in the hospital. That’s on me but it’s not my fault. I wish they had something / anything for vegans, even if it’s some freezer gardein or a black bean meal they could throw together or just something. Like 6% of the country is vegan now. And all of the Asian restaurants and burger joints and Mexican restaurants around here cater to it, so I was surprised. Don’t treat me like I shouldn’t even be here or assume this is a weird life choice I want to make that makes your job difficult. I just don’t want itchy weird psoriasis because then you’ll really think I’m a freak - I can’t eat most of my favorite foods or alcohol and it sucks. Trust me I’d be having the salmon if I could. But please treat me with basic respect, assume positive intent, look me in the eye and keep my drink filled.
Excellent food with great ambiance. My only criticism is to be extremely punctual. I was ten minutes late with reservations, and had to wait 30 minutes. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.#budget_dating
