Give it a pass. The rave reviews are older.I read them, thought to myself, sure I'll stop there and have some great BBQ.Service was good and friendly. The coleslaw and BBQ beans were exceptional - however, the chicken tasted as if it was marinated in a paste of white glue. It was truly awful. I ate the coleslaw, the beans and a couple of mouthfuls of chicken, got up and walked out. When I spoke to co-workers from Christiansburg, they all said the same thing - this restaurant is past its prime, that the owner was focused on running for political office and a new eatery in Roanoke.Maybe so, but for me, I would set foot in this establishment again nor can I recommend it.

Great barbecue and they have their own sauces which are great. Outdoor seating and if it's raining they even have indoor seating within a garage that is finished with a bar, flooring, deco and tables. If you like BBQ, check this place out

Communication was phenomenal and process was smooth from beginning until time of event. The manager (I am so sorry I didn't get names) was very accommodating and made suggestions without influencing any decisions.Very important to note their timing.... exactly when they said they'd arrive, they were there. All of those celebrating commented on the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The food stayed hot and drinks stayed cold. Mmmhmm good. The assistant manager (feel horrible for not getting names) was equally as great. You would've thought we were at the restaurant with how these ladies worked the grad party!!Thank you!!! Y'all made a great day absolutely wonderful!!!!

Yikes! It was really bad. There were small portions the food was cold and flavorless. The bulled pork was too tough to chew to and definitely reheated. The menu was inaccurate. It said homemade ranch but it came in a packet that you would get in a school cafeteria. The drink prices weren’t listed 3.00$ for a small cup or fountain soda is crazy. All the BBQ sauces were disgusting, basically vinegar. I left sick to my stomach and physically couldn’t finish my meal. Order the pickles only thing worth it there.

Meats are really good. Mac and cheese leaves a lot to be desired. I was hopeful about the fried green tomatoes, but they were just bad. The cornmeal breading felt like sand in the teeth. Pulled pork was great and the sauce choices are plentiful.

The lady that waited on us was super nice. Food was awful. My bbq was dry. Some of it was actually rock hard. The greens were saturated in grease and the potatoes was very old. A friend had the chicken salad sandwich and one bite said I taste like I'm biting into a pile of salt and it was 35.00. We both stopped and got Cokes to attempt to settle our upset stomachs for the 2 hr ride back home.

Amazing fine So so amazing If i lived near here it would be my go to place We had pulled pork and hush puppies with all the sauces You must try them all Cashier was super nice and I loved her short so much I bought one

My friends and I eat at Due South BBQ all the time it is very good! Always a great choice when looking for a place for dinner, you will be glad you found this place. It's worth stopping by and getting anything on the menu. It is southern cooking at its finest, all of the fixings and BBQ are always a great choice. Compliments to the owners for having such an amazing restaurant in Christiansburg.

I needed a place for a semi-late dinner and stumbled upon this bbq place and it was FANTASTIC... i tried visiting a 2nd time on a different trip and arrived 15min too late (my fault), but i'll go back again!

This review is for the Christiansburg location. If a numerical rating system were available I would give it a -10. My group arrived just after opening and the restaurant was very cold. After a good 20 minutes an employee turned up the thermostat but by that time we had finished our meal and preparing to leave. This employee was also seen running to her car several times – maybe it was to keep warm. The food is overpriced for the small portion of tasteless food received. The food was warm, not hot as would be expected, and we believe it was warmed in the microwave as leftovers from the previous day. They were smoking meat when we arrived so one would think you would receive fresh food. The pulled pork had very tough pieces in it that could not be bitten through nor could the fork break it up. The roll it was served on fell apart. The greens had the consistency of being from a can. The sauce bottles on the table needed to be wiped down. On top of that, they were tasteless. The table across from us had not been cleaned from the previous night and had dried pulled pork on the seat and crumbs on the table. After leaving the restaurant we then went to another to get a proper meal as we were only able to eat three bites of our sandwiches. Not once did an employee stop by the table to ask if everything was ok. We were not the only customers there. You pay when you place your order, literally right inside the single front door which is a poor arrangement.
