I ordered a fried chicken salad. When I went to pick it up. I had long sandwich lettuce, tomatoes cut up in small pieces and 2 whole flat chicken beasts. I took it back and told the manager this was not a salad. He said we don’t serve salads here. I ordered on line. He said that should have been taken off. So he ask would you like something else. So I ordered blueberry pancakes with blueberries and whipped cream. I received plain cold pancakes nothing but syrup. I gave up and left. Very Upset ?
The service was terrible. One of the waitresses shrugged her shoulders when I was trying to explain to her that part of the order was messed up. I ordered the Cali Roasted Turkey Melt and the picture in the menu and what you actually get are two different things. The picture shows turkey deli sliced style lunch meat. I got a greasy, chopped turkey sandwich with guacamole on it. The sandwich was more of Turkey Cheesesteak not a melt. The lettuce was mushy and their was enough melted greasy cheese on it for an entire middle school lunch. The french fries were sitting in a layer of grease on the plate. I ate half of the sandwich and left the rest. The waitress asked if i wanted it to go. I told her no because it wasn't any good. She didn't offer any apology or anything. She simply took the plate and walked off. My waitress didn't get our order right. When checking out to pay for the meal the IHOP manager was at the register and didn't ask how our meal was. The waitress never once came to our table to ask if we needed anything. We ordered an appetizer to share among three people. We didn't get everything we needed to go with the appetizer and kept having to ask for items. I won't be back to this particular IHOP in Chester, VA.
Unfortunately 3 stars is the best I can give. This location struggles to ever give an accurate wait time for starters. We were told 20 minutes, but waited an hour. Once seated we had to wait 20 minutes before the server was able to see us. Overall our waitress was very good though once she made it to our table. The food is fine as well. I believe the problem is either understaffed or poor communication because they struggle with timing and moving people through.
It was ok....I have had better service and better food. Our server was good. I won't go back for awhile though.
I have to give props where they're due, I mean it's IHOP their food is ok and not the best. But me and my family come once a month and specifically always ask for Kory. He is an outstanding waiter and we make sure to always ask for him. His attitude and attentiveness alone is why I happily give this IHOP it's full 5 stars. Make sure to ask for him if he's available he will definitely make your visit worth while.
Thank YOU Sheldon and team for coming to work today!!!! Service was amazing from the second we entered. Sheldon brought us coffee right away and then a hot, hot, hot breakfast. Combo items allow you to try many foods! Cozy, clean and reasonable pricing.
I usually don't dine at places like this but I come because of a waitress named Kathy. Kathy is an awesome waitress with loads of personality and charisma. The two stars means I didn't get Kathy lol! The waitress we had kept forgetting everything she said she would get, other three individuals at my table got there food. I had to wait twenty minutes for mines because she would give me one part of my meal at a time because she claimed she could not remember what i ordered. Kathy had to step in and help making sure drinks were refreshed and expediting my meal. I gave Kathy half of the tip I left also the older balding manager isn't friendly at all to employees or customers.
My potatoe cakes were burnt and tasteless and was not offered a refill until I was done eating. My husband burrito came with country gravy which he didn't get until he ate half his burrito. Only one server and she had to many tables. When leaving no one was there to cash us out the manager was on the line cooking picked up the pancakes with his bare had and add topping to it just nasty.
Hands down the best IHOP I've ever eaten in my life! I'm from jersey and we are not doing something right. I don't like IHOP but this place was amazing. Kathy our waitress is the best and so helpful. Very friendly folks and a pleasure. My food was so good I couldn't believe it was an IHOP. I sure look forward to coming back during my trips. Thanks so much!
