We were there last night for the first time. My daughter chose it for her birthday because it was a new restaurant that we have never been to before. I ordered the 3 tacos and per the menu it is supposed to come with a choice of refried or charro beans, and I ordered a side of Mexican rice as well. I got my tacos and fries not rice so I told the waitress that she must have misunderstood me as rice and fries might sound the same, and she was a tad annoyed, but took the fries and gave me the rice. I also told her that I did not receive my charro beans, and that is when she had the biggest attude and rolled her eyes at me but still brought back the beans. In the end I was charged for the beans that should have come with my meal in the first place. The misunderstanding and order errors are not what I'm mad about, those things happen. What I am mad about is how the waitress handled it. She was unfriendly and not a good waitress at all. I give it 3 stars because the hostess was very sweet and the food was good but I will not be back because that waitress gave me such a negative experience.
Wow very nice place. Family friendly, service was outstanding and food spectacular. Value was very good for the prices and large amounts of food. Served hot and fresh, the best Mexican food I have had in a good while. Put Don Papa Grande on the top of the best places to eat out. Even saw the staff cleaning the restrooms which also was just as clean as the rest of the restaurant. I am very impressed and will visit again and again. Chester gem for sure.
This place was always my go to takeout for Mexican..last week I Ordered takeout the cheese was cold with a plastic type texture and the rice was hard and undercookEd had diarrhea and My stomach hurt like heck that entire night .They have completely lost my business.I usually order takeout every Friday from them but it's been a month since my last order.I will not be going back here ever
We ate at the Don Papa Grande in Chester village of Rte 10. We set in the bar area and a high top table but the seat was really comfortable because it's oversized and has a nice supportive back. I had the Pollo Azteca which was very delicious. One Thin sliced chicken breadt with squash, peppers, onions on tip. I did not get the mushrooms. It was very tasty and filling.My sister had the chicken chimichangas and a mango margarita. Food was delicious we were definitely coming again. Next time I'm going to get the La Mula which is a Moscow mule but made with a tequila in a cute claypot.
Went in for a late lunch. Received my beer chips and salsa. After 40 minutes of waiting for my food I ask for my check.They charged me for my meal that I never received. Spent the next 10 minutes waiting for them to figure it out and proving that I never received the food.They refunded the overcharge and apologized. The problem is I tried to get peoples attention with no response. Server never came back to me after my order was placed and the beer was dropped off.The place is not that expensive and the food is average. So you get what you pay for. As a local business owner in the area I will just avoid this restaurant. There was about 4 tables with customers and the staff out numbered the tables being served.I can only imagine if the restaurant was very busy.
I go to get my Tierra Y Mar, and they always make it delicious, they are fast and very friendly!
This place has pretty good Mexican food. We got takeout for my birthday. Other than the food not being hot for obvious reasons, it was tasty. I got enchiladas verse. I liked the chips and salsa. The guacamole was a bit limey. I didn’t care for the white salsa. Tasted like ranch to me. Would eat there again.
Always a great choice for lunch or dinner. Their staff is friendly and professional, the food is fresh , hot and appetizing. Great atmosphere!
Maybe new owners or the move but this place is not the same. Don Jose is my go to now if I’m looking for good Mexican food
