Second time dining in. Quiet spot with attentive servers, great atmosphere and even greater food. There are quite a few sushi spots in this area, but this location is by far the best. They don't offer a buffet, but it's worth the money!
This place is totally legit. I used to work near lynnhaven location and had many many lunches there. Didn't even know this one existed until today. Did not disappoint.I'm giving it five stars because for what they do they are five star at it Obviously you're not going to get sushi on the level of a Yasuda or Morimoto or the places in Japan people say are even better, Yama is more like a really good daily driver. Never lets you down and occasionally delights you.
Hot garbage fire.For anyone that reads my reviews only don't waste my time on mediocre, anyone can find that and I don't like wasting mine or anyone else's time.First time visiting staff was rude and slow to serve drinks and ask for my order. They were not busy.Sushi was drowned in a spicy mayo. Just horrible.My second visit tonight. One server. She was a bit aloof. I asked for double meat chicken teriyaki. Server said they couldn't do it. I asked her to ask her manager if it'spossible, I'll pay for the extra chicken. After 5 minutes of no response I decided to go somewhere else.It's a shame, I wanted to like this place but it just doesn't work.
So glad we pick this sushi place!!!!! Walked and the place looked real nice and something different. Our service there was hands down the best, and the sushi was great and tasty. And I would recommend YamaChen's sushi to everyone!!!!!
Ate here with my family and loved it! The decorations are so beautiful inside! I love the look of the store. The service is friendly, calm, and nice. The food is a piece of decoration itself and tastes awesome.
We lived in Japan for a couple of years, and when we moved back, didn't think we'd find something as good.This place was amazing! Exceeded all expectations! I'd definitely eat here again! The takeout was really fast, and the presentation of the food, containers, condiments, and chopsticks / utensils were 5-stat!
The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food was well prepared and tasted fantastic. Our server was very friendly and attentive. This may be our new favorite sushi place.

the service was great and the sushi rolls we ordered came out so fast and were SO GOOD! The waiter even gave us a free roll on the house which was so nice. It was my first time here with a friend, but next time I will be inviting my family and more friends to come eat here!! Truly one of the best sushi places i’ve been to!
If you're thinking sushi, your next thought better be Yama Chen's. The quality of service, expirence, a food goes above and beyond any reasonable expectations. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. Thank you Yama's. Y'all are truly amazing.
