Well now...this was a pleasant surprise. I work by the one on General Booth. But I happily found out there was one 10 minutes from my house in Chesapeake I was really hoping it was good...and it was perfect heavy too lol
First time visiting this location. Had a craving for a meatball sub. Decided to get some wings also. Having grown up in the northeast in Connecticut I have a high standard for meatball subs or grinders. This was the worse one I’ve ever had. The meatballs were ok but almost no sauce and no cheese an no taste. You don’t want too much sauce, but it shouldn’t be dry. It’s like they ran out of cheese and sauce. Look how little cheese was on it!! The bread was terrible also. I’ve come to expect less here in Virginia when it comes to Italian bread. Not only was it spongy but it was 5 inches long. The shortest meatball sub I’ve ever had. I’ve had good experiences at the other Windy City location. This was terrible. The Buffalo wings were tiny, had no taste. It was like they tossed them in some Texas Pete and called it good. I’ll give them another chance but this was terribly disappointing.
We had a party of 5 for pre-fireworks dinner on July 3rd and it was pretty empty inside, which made for quick seating and service, which was efficient and very good. The food here is always good to very good, IMO and it was no different this time. We had a variety of dishes ordered from a Greek Salad to Meatball Sub to Deep Dish pizza and not one complaint. We have ordered delivery from here online and on the phone during peak of Covid (and after), and we have done eat-in dining 5 or 6 times. We have always had good to great service and the food quality is always reliably good or better. This is always a good choice when looking for solid Italian food.
Try the corn fritters! I got the sampler of mozzarella planks, corn fritters, and spicy sausage. The fritters had so much flavor. I got a pizza as well. And it was really good, a good amount of toppings and the sauce tasted good.
It has been years since I've had Chicago Deep Dish, and Windy City did not disappoint. The crust was perfect, the sauce was zesty, and there was the perfect amount of cheese on the pie. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $1.50 to get the garlic and butter crust. You won't regret it.
This place left there customer service in Chicago. I was literally just told the owner is too busy to call me back and didn’t care if they messed up or not. We order a bbq pizza and it came with almost no bbq sauce on it they said this normal. But we would be happy to give you 8.00 dollars off our 30.00 pizza. I told them to keep ad there good to need it. Save your money to and go to dominion’s at least the food poisoning will be cheaper there.
So amazing!! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this amazing pizza!! Deep dish with pineapples, chicken, and jalapenos!! I need to get this again ASAP!
I ordered a pizza for delivery. I paid for the pizza over the phone and didn’t go to the door. The person who signed for the pizza, just signed and gave receipt back to driver. A woman from the store called me and said we still had the signed copy and to process and close out our ticket we had to confirm the charges I told asked if the signed copy was here and informed her it was given back to the driver she then said “well why didn’t you tip your driver what is the problem why is there no tip on here”. I told her the approach of the call was puzzling and if the initial call was to broach the subject of tip that should have been up front. She told me I would be added to a list and hung up on me. I called back to ask for a manager and the same woman said she was the owner. I was appalled. I’ve never had an experience remotely close to this from a pizza place. Will never order from there again. Hope the driver finds a new place of employment that believes in integrity and customer service.
My $35 pizza looked like it had been flipped 20 times. Messaged the restaurant but they don't seem to care about customers
I’m a transplant from the Chicagoland area. Obviously whoever left negative reviews has never had “real” Chicago food. They’re just too used to a frozen crust with ketchup and cheese. Deep dish pizza takes time to build and bake. I eat there all the time and always love it. If I have to wait a little extra time for the pizza…so what!! Do y’all leave bad reviews for the DMV? Your doctor’s office? Doubt it. This establishment is almost right on point with what I’ve eaten back home. Definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed! We drive all the way from Holland to eat there at the Chesapeake location.
