I love TGI Fridays and was sad when the lynnhaven location closed. Tried the Volvo Parkway location last weekend and will never go back. We got there and there were maybe 5 cars in the parking lot. Not busy at all. Waited at the door for almost 10 minutes before I finally walked around to find someone. The first girl I saw was carrying a big bag of trash through the restaurant. I asked her "do you work here" and she just shook her head no. Not sure why a customer would be carrying trash, but ok. Then I see a girl wiping down table. I said "excuse me, can we please get someone to seat us". Her response: "oh". In a low not so good mood kinda tone. She walked to the front, grabbed 2 menus and seated us. The only word she said to us was "oh". Next up, I go to the bathroom. I didn't even want to pee in there. I'd rather cop a squat in the parking lot. Used paper towels all over the counter and floor, the stall walls look disgusting and could use a wipe down, and then a nice big piece of cardboard taped on the tiled wall, I assume to cover a hole. Trashy place. I go back to my table and the appetizer was there. We ordered mozzarella sticks. One of them was breading only. No mozzarella inside. The big ribs were tough and dry. Then a family gets seated next to us halfway through our visit. The little boy asks his grandpa "papa will you go with me...you should see the bathroom, we might want to go to the girls". It was about 12:45. Lunch time. Not busy AT ALL and I now understand why. Never like that at the Lynnhaven location... They should have closed Volvo and kept Lynnhaven. This place will probably close soon: horrible horrible service and just trash. This is the first review I've ever written, and I hate for it to be so negative but I'm super disappointed. Fridays was my favorite but Volvo ruined it
FOOD REVIEW ONLY:The spicy shrimp and chicken pasta was ordered by myself and another, both were very bland in flavor but did have a reasonable spice level associated with that dish. It tasted watered down or old but not fresh or creamy, when I found the shrimp and chicken it was decent and had a bit more fatty parts that made it a little chewy. The big pretzel had the big sea salt and then seemed to have had fine table salt added in addition on there and made it super salty it was not eaten by me. Jasmine rice tasted like it was stored in a plastic bag and heated up before service.Server was amazing
Today is Sunday April 24th and we visited Fridays today with a couple friends. We were seated and then the waiter whom seemed either clueless or just didn’t want to be there walked up without any personality whatsoever asked for our drink ordersWe got our drinks then he came back for our food orders. It took about 40 minutes to get all of our burgers. I am not complaining about the wait because everyone is short handed.Anyway the burgers were greatThen the waiter came to collect the plates and we told him the bill would be split between the two couples. That is when I told him about my Friday rewards. He then brings the two bills with my reward points split between both bills. The rewards were for my bill. But it was fine. Our friend gave him a credit card and I gave cash.20 minutes pass my friend gets her credit card back. But my change is not returned.Another 6 minutes go by and I flag down a waitress and explain about my change. The waiter shows up and I tell him about my change. He tells me he will go get it. 8 minutes later he brings it without my receipt.I am not cheap but a waiter that doesn’t ask how we are or anything for that matter is not getting a 10 dollar tip
The service is fine but food is not up to standard. Initially husband ordered Stella but they were just "foam" according to our servant. Then he switched to another beer, but it tasted still like been sitting outside for awhile. He only took two sips and that it.We ordered one appetizer + two entrees. The classic friday combos is not worth the price at all; the food arrived warm as if just came out of microwave. The chicken was heavily breaded and tasted like been out of fryer for couple hours and reheated. The cajun shrimp chicken pasta was okay but again, the chicken tastes very weird. Again, the food was warm (not hot). Husband had a burger entree and sadly, the best thing was the fries.Don't think we will visit again.
The atmosphere is warm and cozy, great for a get together with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and had such amazing flavors. The wait staff were on top of their game and are very attentive, our glasses were never empty. Will definitely be coming back here. AND it's also a Pokéstop for anyone that plays Pokémon Go!I 1000% recommend asking for Sabrina. She is the absolute best! I cannot praise this place enough! I've never had a bad experience here.
I visited this eatery on Sunday afternoon. It took a pretty good while to be seated. I could see they were short on staffing. The hostess was so kind.her customer service was awesome. It set the tone of the entire evening. She realized their short comings, but she overly compensated with customer care.I wish everyone could be so mindful of how important those strangers are ,walking through your doors, BECAUSE YOU CAN DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITHOUT US. I did not get her name, but she's a jewel. Thank you young lady for making us feel VALUED AND APPRECIATED. My best friend wanted to take her home. Smile. Just in case you do not know who we are, we are the older white lady and the middle age black lady, ok?............We will visit again.
If I could give zero stars I would. The host told us it would be a 15 minute wait. 30 minuets later we were still waiting to be sat. That's fine. I know that waiting times are estimates. However, 4 groups that came in after mine were sat before us (all groups, including mine, were 2-3 people). I went to inform the host that we were there before them and was told that she didn't know when anyone came in, because she wouldn't take names, and that she was going to seat another group that had just walked in and we would just have to wait for another table to open. We decided to leave at this point and go elsewhere.
Overpriced food that is not good I asked for medium well steak and got a extra well done dry piece of meat and overcooked veggies. My drink was full of ice and barely any liquor. Staff was nice. Waste of money
Food was disgusting!!! I always order the Cajun chicken and shrimp pasta n for the first time it had absolutely Nooo flavor..My boyfriend order the same thing and he felt the same way( he salt n pepper his to death) it was definitely missing a main ingredient..I ate about 3bites n took the rest home...a complete waste of money! The waitress didn't make the vist any better she was very dry..and not there mentally..I may give Friday's one more try but I will never order my favorite meal from here again..that's for sure!
It was my first experience at a TGI Fridays. I didn't forget anything, so I definitely don't have a reason to go back. The potato skins appetizer was the best thing we had. (Thats not saying much) I had the wings platter. 3 flavors...Sweet chili, garliic parm, and Buffalo. The flavors were spot on, but as for the wings themselves. They were not only dry af they were cold. My wife got the bacon cheese burger and fries. She literally pulled the whole burger apart to see what was making it taste the way it did, and the pub cheese left something to be desired, and the medium patty was burnt. Like charred. She didn't even eat it. The waitress/Hostest was amazing though. So she was compensated well, and we didn't complain. If you are looking for a place to eat that has delicious food, this isn't a spot for you. Now if you are just looking for a spot that serves over priced food that serves no other purpose than filling a void, shoot your shot.
