The spinach casserole is to die for. I also had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. I could make a meal on the spinach casserole alone! Will definitely go back next time I’m I. Chesapeake!
Went to Pirate's cove to have dinner with my Dad. I was less than impressed with the customer service. The waitress and manager seemed to be annoyed that they had to take time out of their day to answer questions about the menu. Also, the crab dip barely had crab in it. It tasted like cheese with nothing else added. The manager came over and said it was shredded; we must have gotten the last of the pot with the least amount of crab. Other than that the fried fish and shrimp were good. They have a nice beach/sea theme decor. I felt a little cramped withthe booths being close together in a smaller space. If you aren't careful when getting up from your booth you could easily bump into the booth across from you. I give kudos for it being as clean as it was. Overall, it is a good place to go for fried seafood.
17 of us made reservations for my sister's 60th birthday. We had a wonderful waiter Seth who did his best to take care of us while waiting on other tables. He never complained and was very friendly. Several of us ordered the fried seafood platter that has fish, shrimp, calm strips, osters and hush puppies. We got wings, salads, calamari, crab dip, cheese sticks, onion rings etc. The food was fresh and seasoned very well. My only complaint would be that 1/2 of the food did not come out hot. I had broiled scallops and they were room temp. I understand that places are short staffed but it was obvious that they held the food so that they could serve us at the same time. I don't think they are equipped to handle large parties. I would go back but not with a large group.
I would leave no stars if that was a option, even one star is very generous. I just left this location, after coming in for the first time and it was horrible. I ordered the Tuesday special one pound of steamed shrimp and two sides. Upon the food coming to the table I tried it gave it a fair shot it was EXTREMELY BLAND. No taste in the green beans or the shrimp just all around unappetizing.I’m typically not one to send back food but there was no way I would pay for what came out on that plate. So we brought it to our servers attention, she stated there was nothing she could do but bring over old bay and I politely declined. In my opinion it needed more than old bay to fix the meal which is fine, exactly why I sent it back. The owner decided to rudely hover our table and stated “ there is nothing wrong with these shrimp and I’m not taking it off”. Very unprofessional right? Yeah so I take a picture of the food in his hand while holding this plate over the table and asked why not if the food is still there why would we pay for this plate of bland food.He ended up taking it off after this encounter, you can not force someone to pay for something they did not eat I don’t care who you are. Or TRY to intimidate or force them to take it home. We left a item in the restaurant and went back for it and he was gossiping to his servers about us. Not realizing we were in the building can you say BAD BUSINESS. I should’ve check the reviews before going I see plenty of 1 star ratings I see why.Steer clear …. unless you like mediocre service and bland food this is definitely your place.Response update to owner: When you came to check on us our food just hit the table so at that point we were fine getting ready to eat and actually try it. WHAT THE SHRIMP LOOKED LIKE VS HOW THEY TASTED TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. Let’s get the information correct shall we, she wanted me to peel all the shrimp and add old bay on them and that is too much work for food not worth the money anyway. Even then that doesn’t makeup for the bland side dishes the ENTIRE MEAL was not good. It may be perfect to your taste but not mine. I know exactly what was ordered and as stated before it was unappetizing and BLAND the food wasn’t good in my opinion. Take a class on customer service and try again, you dropped the ball hasn’t been the first time definitely not the last time with the way you do business. I can provide feedback to what I would like too, if you don’t like it don’t respond.
Service was great and drinks were good but half my food was cold. I ordered the steak and crab. Crab was cooked nicely but was warm and my steak was suppose to be medium rare but was raw and cold. It was 8 of us and everyone had a complaint about food being with no seasoning and cold. The owner was rude and basically couldn't take any feedback to help improve what was lacking. Definitely first and last time at this place. I gave 1 star for the waitress and the other for the bartender. Just be cautious when going to this place because the kitchen is a huge problem.
Food is bland and und unappetizing. The owner is rude if you do not like something, he will attempt to force you to take it with you in a to go box. His attempts at trying to be intimidating are hilarious. He told me he refused to remove it from check, although it was untouched. He chose to hover our table in our space saying the food was good??? I had to take a photo of the full plate he had in our face , because he seemed like he was adamant on getting money from me. It definitely was not good and they claimed the kitchen was closed so I couldn’t get anything else. I don’t know what kind of business they having going but its sad.
The service was excellent. The food was delicious. My brother and his grandson was visiting from Louisville, Ky. He said the food was outstanding. MY great nephew by accident put his retainer that he put on a napkin put it on his plate when they took the plates away we were going to leave he said I can not find my retainers. Well I know it is a long story but our great waiter went back to the kitchen and found both of them.
The 2 stars was all for the service. Their new menu reflects way more than $$. She crab cup is now $10.50. The steamed clams were cold.The fried shrimp were wonderful but not worth the new price. Each side, like salad and baked potato is a $2 extraper charge.....the sign of the times. Ill be eating home more.
The she-crab soup was wonderful. Wish I could say the rest of the meal was. The place was not very busy, so why was my food not even warm. Not even the mac n cheese. Fish special on Friday gives you a lot of food . I took most of my food home intending to heat it up and make a fish sandwich. But ended up just tossing it all. I hope my experience is a 1 off. And that you have better luck there. Oh.. soup was super hot. Just how it should be.
Service was great. Went before 4 and after lunch so it wasn't busy. Since the price of crab meat so anything with crab is super expensive. Not the restaurants' fault. However, I decided to splurge and ordered the crab dip appetizer and it tasted more like cream cheese dip (reason I gave them 4 stars). Rest of the meal delicious!
