The worst hibachi I've ever had. I asked for ginger sauce to go with the hibachi and the waitress asked do you want this medley of mayonnaise sauces. Oh and that was not any kind of steak I'm aware of. The steak looked and tasted old. I was never asked how I wanted the steak cooked.
We wanted to try a new sushi place but this is not that great of a place. The sign right as you walk in clearly says "no sharing food" " must eat all that you order". That was a clue. I told the waitress what appetizer we wanted and she then asked my husband what appetizer he wanted, clearly the "no share" policy is real. The appetizer only had 3 small rolls which was not explained on the menu. Also not on the menu is prices, no where to be found. They push for the all-you-can eat but it's not clear in the menu as to what is or isn't apart of the all-you-can eat selection. I ordered one roll and I got it before my husband got his. I waited almost 10 mins for him to get his. The sushi wasn't even that great. I have reviewed better places. I'll pass.
Absolutely horrible food and even worse service. I've never been to a Japanese restaurant and the sushi was served sloppy and lack luster. If you can't afford to do an "All You can Eat" and still maintain great quality food and service, then what's the point. I know for some people in the Hampton Roads area they will continue to support this local business regardless of the poor food and service and that's fine. To each their own. When given so many better options in this area, why even bother. I think when we went we spent somewhere around say 80.00. Best 80.00 I spent because at the end of the day it was worth knowing that Kagura is not a place I'd ever patron again and that I'm not missing out on anything. How bad was my experience you ask? Let's just say this, I wouldn't eat there for free nor would I feed the food to my dog or worst enemy.
This place has gone downhill bad. The food is like American Chinese fast food now and nothing like hibachi food. The rolls were sloppy and rushed not like little works of art. The drinks were full of ice and watered down. The plates were all badly chipped and even cracked. Well not recommend this place to anyone not even my enemies.
Used to be good, but lately they have been serving older meat that was brown and tasted like an aquarium. They also recently substituted the cream cheese for mozzarella or something. I wouldn't mind if they would have said something, or if they would've just said they were out of cream cheese. We used to frequent Kagura recently but lately they have really gone downhill.
All you can eat was great! They also have hibachi meal but no grill. They have ice cream cups for kids and very attentive. Customer service was great.
I have been here a handful of times and every time the food is subpar. It’s ok. Service depends on who your waitress is. There’s a nice one and a rude one. Fairly fast service and a good price for all you can eat but again the food isn’t that great. My husband used to rave about this place and even he says it’s gone downhill a bit.
Love this place. They're usually pretty quick, the sushi is on point, and the staff is friendly and occasionally remembers me. Birthday meals are half off, menu is always solid
Food is good. Service is great during the week and okay on the weekend. Just a little busier.
The lady at the front was rude. I went in at first to dine in and then change my mind for a take out, she seemed angry after that. When I wanted to order, I asked for the chicken teriyaki bento not knowing they only serve it during lunch. She looked at me straight in the eyes and angrily said “sir it’s dinner time”. I just walked out of there after that. Bad employees ruin the quality of the restaurant overall. I feel bad for the owner. Hopefully they find better employees.
