Ordered some wings and a captain's basket to go. I drove back to Virginia Beach to find out that there were no oyster in my captain's basket. Not going to waste gas to drive back there to complain. Cooks and waitress need to do their job to make sure the food orders are right. What a disappointment. Making BAD HABITS of messing up food ordes.
We come for happy hour... service leaves a little to be desired, but the beer is cold and prices decent. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious that batch of oysters we had there were. I hope that is consistent... will update after a few more trips.4/15/22 - It's been consistent. Service is not great, but the beer is cold, the price is decent, and the baked oysters are fantastic.
Our waitress was super, really nice. It may have been unexpectedly busy for a Sunday evening. Food took a while but I'm ok with that. Not ok with cold food though. It was remade and served hot. Had great live music. Maybe add a couple more restrooms and staff. But having said that, I realize people aren't wanting to work anymore. The crowd was pretty nice. I'd go back, for the music and try the food scene again. The shrimp were awesome.
Service and atmosphere saved it from a 2 star. Food was less than ok. Wings lacked flavor and were slightly undercooked. Chicken sandwich was hard and over cooked. Hand cut fries were very good. Raw oysters and steam shrimp were good. Tuna was similar to the frozen ones I've bought at Lidl. Good for a Supermarket, but not eating out. Burger was fine. Cleanliness was just ok. Table was dirty and menus felt dirty. Place looked clean overall and staff was cleaning as we were there. Probably just overlooked some hard food stuck on the table Overall it was just an ok experience and we most likely won't be back.
This was our second time… food was awesome! And we decided to stay for the music bingo.. very entertaining! And I won! Got a gift card! Recommend definitely!
I had a wonderful dining experience and great convo with so many people! Top 5 Oyster Rock!
Great place to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Great staff!
Went for the Tuesday prime rib special and left disappointed. The service was excellent. Our waiter was on point the whole time and he’s the reason this is getting three stars. Fresh oysters I ordered as an appetizer we’re also very good. I ordered my meat medium rare but got medium well it it looked like they had put it under the broiler. I would’ve sent it back but I was in a hurry and didn’t want to wait. I could’ve lived with the meat being a little more done but it was really tough. The food was also served warm and not hot which is a pet peeve for me. The broccoli and the salad I had as sides we’re just average. I was hoping this would be a really good spot for prime rib, but my first impression was not good. Seems like a nice place good atmosphere and might go back to try other things but probably not Tuesday.
So here is the problem, not the food but rather the service. Tonight I had good blackened mahi-mahi, unfortunately the waitress/bartender forgot my crab legs add on. She did admit she forgot them and offered to have them cooked for me and I declined as it was a decent mahi steak, however after finishing the mahi, I was still hungry. Not a problem and should be a simple correction; however I sat here feeling like the red headed step child in the corner that was totally oblivious to all staff! As I knew she was busy pulling double duty, I tried to get attention of the other wait staff only for them to ignore me, (I seriously considered standing up and waving my arms). If you come into this place, do not sit in the back left corner booth!! Now to the food, the salad I had was okay, the course chop on the lettuce left huge pieces, other than that it was fine. The broccoli was steamed perfectly and the mahi was a bit under seasoned for me but the cook was good and flaky for the fish. Service is always key in the restaurant business, and unfortunately it failed here!
Great time great food lots of fun
